Did you even watch the fight?...he caught Cotto off balance! Seriously...how long have you been following boxing??:verysad
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qhNn1jIB3w&feature=related If you can ignore the horrendous music until the 1:46 mark you can see Cotto got caught off balance. I don't think he was hurt but I can see why people would see it that way. As for Cotto-Margarito. There is no proof that Margarito cheated in that fight when he beat Cotto but no one just starts to cheat that late in their career when everything is going well. Margarito was on top of the world before his fight with Shane, I don't see why he'd risk it all then by cheating all of a sudden. As for Williams, Cotto would have serious problems with him. I would not discount Miguel at all but Williams would be a serious favourite coming into this fight.
Paul got his ass beat by Quintana out boxed and out worked, I honestly think Paul struggles with Miguel that height can easily be a disadvantage and Paul has clearly shown that he does not keep his distance he does not operate behind that jab like he should be.
We'll never know. But plaster doesn't make you throw 1000 punches and plaster is hardly responsible for Cotto's well known stamina and chin issues. Margarito only got into the fight in the 2nd half, loaded gloves or not, he was outclassed up to the point Cotto starting to fade and tire. Maybe the bloody face in the last 3 minutes is the mark of the loaded gloves, maybe not, but when the 10th round started, before Margarito started to land his cleanest blows, Cotto was already breathing heavily and again: Margarito's superior stamina and punch output comes from the camp, not from the gloves, so in my opinion a rewrapped, 100% clean Margarito would've beaten Cotto too.
ok so lets ignore the fact that paul williams is taller, faster, more accurate, more accurate, uses better angles, and can easily replicate what margarito did to cotto....
why would they? He's basicly a middleweight who makes the limit of welter the day before a fight and is again a middle on the day of.
I guess I saw a different fight then you guys. I saw cotto schooling margo while tony was systematically breaking him down...it was a true test of attrition and margo prevailed. Far from an ass kicking...just as margo swolleen face and he'll let u know he was getting tagged.
Margo whipped that boy's ass. And only a blind Cotto-nut-licker like Braveheart would think Petey wouldn't do the same. You can talk about Quintana all you want (Bazooka) but PW is clearly a different fighter now. He told us before that fight up in Connecticut "He got me... But I got something for his ass this time. **** what them trainers say, he can't hurt me. I just need to go in there and take a couple of his punches so I can catch him one good time, and it's curtains" Stylewise... PW is just plain ****ing wrong for Cotto. No other way of putting it. Arum knows it, and so does everyone else.
To the first question: No, he didn't because that fight was won through attrition .. both boxers threw shots at each other, round after round, until one of them couldn't continue and since the plaster was found in Margaritos wraps at the Mosley fight, we can only assume that he had also used it in the Cotto fight. In other words, it was no wonder that Cotto was worn down before Margarito. I give A.M. absolutely ZERO credit for that win and to think I used to give him major props for it too.
Just a question Uli . . . did you get the answer to your question? What's Pacfans excuses when Hatton beats Pacquiao?
