Manny Steward has some blame in this aswell IMO... Kermit was frogging along pretty good before he joined Kronk. Until someone convinced him he could box & use his jab, Then the "Killer" was dead.
I'm not a Cintron hugger, nor am I Rican, but who's to say Cintron is ruined? He seems to be a pretty solid "gatekeeper" kind of fighter around 147 and 154, and he's always appeared to be that to me. A guy without much more than a big punch usually doesn't amount to much else, so give the guy his due...
