Did Marquez and Morales really duck Soto?

What are the fact's in which Azteca's (now Azatlan) claim that both great Mexican Warriors ducked Soto?

In 2006 and 2007 Soto brutalized his opponents and when he KO'd Bobby Pacquiao, everyone began to fear Soto.

Soto called out Pac, and Pac ducked him.

So, Soto called out Barrera, Marquez, Morales, Valero and they all ducked him.

No but Soto really did duck Anthony Peterson pulling out of a signed fight on the televised ubdercard of Cotto vs Foreman because he wanted to fight in mexico vs a complete can for no reason except he "wanted to fight in mexico for his people". And he wonders why he is on the outside looking in.

Rios fought Peterson instead and he became an instant star.

Humberto Soto: more avoided than Martínez, Rigondeaux, Lara, and Tommy Morrison combined

Humberto Soto wants Valero, Marquez and Linares

    by

Junior lightweight titlist Humberto Soto has been rumored recently to be facing lightweight titleholder Edwin Valero in what would be a dynamite fight on the Cotto-Pacquiao undercard in November, but his team is keeping it close to the vest,

but are planning a September return to the ring unless the deal can be made.

A September fight would be against a lesser opponent like Aristedes Perez (15-0-1, 8 KO), so clearly the hope is that they can get the Valero fight on the November 14 card. It'd be way bigger money and way more eyes seeing the fight.

He also reiterates his desire to fight Jorge Linares, and mentions Juan Manuel Marquez as another fighter he'd like to face. He says that now that Manny Pacquiao has moved so far up in weight, that would be difficult for him. I remember back in 2007 one of my most desired fights was Pacquiao-Soto at 130 pounds, and we almost got that one before Pacquiao-Barrera II was signed instead.

Soto (48-7-2, 31 KO) signed off on a fight with Joan Guzman after the Pacquiao deal fell through, and lost a wide decision to the crafty Dominican. Since then he's gone 5-1, with the lone loss a highly-debated DQ against Francisco Lorenzo which Soto avenged in December 2008. He was last seen on the Hatton-Pacquiao undercard, stopping Benoit Gaudet in the ninth round of a stop-and-go sort of fight.

As for the potential opponents, which are all just hypothetical (especially Marquez):
    • Soto v. Edwin Valero: I actually quite like Soto's chances in this fight, but Valero's a nasty puncher and Soto would be moving up in weight to take on a stronger guy. I'd pick Valero, but it would be sensational while it lasted.
    • Soto v. Jorge Linares: If Linares is healthy and fit, he's too good for Soto.
    • Soto v. Juan Manuel Marquez: JMM is too good for Soto.

    Soto never ducked Peterson.

It was Peterson that ducked Soto many times.

Peterson was just bluffing on youtube and boxxingtalk.com cause Nate campbell also pulled a fake story that Marquez was ducking him and people bought it, so Peterson did the same thing.

Peterson was given a shot at Soto's title in June and Peterson said no, so Soto fought the winner of the contender series.
Then Peterson was given a shot at Soto again, in the fall

, and Peterson again ducked Soto.

Since then, no one hears Peterson complaining that he didnt fight Soto.

To this day, Peterson hasnt fought for a world title at all, and has been downgraded to fighting 8-rounders.

for you to deny that Marquez and Morales ducked Soto shows your lack of knowledge in this area of boxing.

Marquez and Morales clearly ducked Soto for years, and so did Peterson.

Soto needs to build a big, solid fanbase, perhaps the top fighters will atop avoiding him then. Soto the mexican Rigondeaux:-(

Here's a constructive video of Rios talking about Mayweather and Ortiz yet CLEARLY he brings nothing up regarding Humberto "El Godzilla" Soto. :deal

Here's another video of Peterson talking about Amir Khan and Lamont yet clearly zero mention of his daddy, Soto.
