He's still living off them wins...take em away and you have a punching bag for decent fighters from 147-160...The list of names that handed him his ass is much more reputable than fighters he's clearly beaten. Cheers

    :huh what the ****.

he also knocked out Lewis who was no mug. He got robbed by the ref and judges against Stinks and beat Vargas as a weight that didn't favour him at all.
Basically he moved up and got beat by Tito and took far more big shot than anyone else did against Tito before the body shots got him, and turned in a poor performance against DLH.

so no, you can't suggest he's done **** all apart from beat Forrest without being laughed at.

The Forrest fights seem to represent the highlights of Ricardo's career.
But, he has experience against quite a few highly skilled fighters, and a decent punch in either hand. I doubt if he'll ever get back down to 147, but at super welter, he's still pretty dangerous. Another Forrest fight would be pretty interesting..quite so much more than another DLH-PBF dance marathon or a Jones-Trinidad oldies revival.

And Forrest has lived off his win with Mosley. Take that away and he's a no one. Take Mayorga's wins against Forrest and he has a pretty decent record.

Every fighter lives off of his biggest wins. Wether it's right or not is debatable, but hey, you still have to GET those wins at least, don't you?
The truth people are looking to find in these kind of discussions is always somewhere in the middle, as it is here: Mayorga is not great, but he's not completely worthless either. He's a very strong and tough guy, who's not as stupid and skill-less as he's made out to be sometimes, and he poses a threat to anyone @147-154.

is there much of a difference between the two:

    forrest's biggest wins besides mosley:

    v. phillips
    quartey (controversial)
    piccirillo
    frank
    baldomir

mayorga's biggest wins outside of forrest:

    a. lewis
    piccirillo
    vargas (shot)
    salazar

both of them have decent wins outside of mosley and forrest, but nothing special or eye-grabbing.

    2001-2002.

around the same time floyd mayweather was beating elicer castillo, shane mosley was beating jermaine taylor, and 5 years after oscar de la fishnet beat mike tyson.

but it meant less since in 1999 at madison square garden, felix trinidad won a 12 round decision over mount whitaker. that prepared tito well for his fight of the millenium showdown with oscar larios.
