I was thinking about this the other day. The DLH that fought PBF was not as old or as weight drained for that fight. The Hatton he fought was undefeated and had not been brutally KOed up to that point.

There is no debate that Mayweather beat the better version of DLH. Hatton I guess could be debatable but he had aquired a Glass Jaw by the time Manny got to him. His punch resistance was non existant.

All this talk about a 60/40 split in favor of Manny is a joke. In my opinion PBF fought the better versions on both DLH and Hatton.

If he schools JMM like he should he would have beat a guy that Manny is arguably 0-1-1 against.

I think all this talk about PBF having to be willing to take 35% is a way for Roach, Arum, and Manny to duck the fight. 50/50 is perfectly acceptable.

My ideal situation would be a 45/45 split with the winner getting the last 10%. It would sell the fight bigtime and add an extra "something" to the event.

    Thoughts?

Do promoters really take note of the nitty giritty of the conditions of those fighters in deciding the purse sharing? How about the handicap Manny has to go through like jumpng two weight divisions higher and fighting a champ who's unbeaten in his division? You should remember that Pac vs. dela Hoya or Pac vs Hatton is not in the same competitive level as Floyd vs. dela Hoya and Floyd vs. Hatton. But one thing is sure the small man outclassed his opponents decisively than Floyd did to the same opponents.

If Floyd has a so-so performance against Marquez, people might consider watching Pac Marquez better than boring Floyd. Floyd is under pressure to make an impression against Marquez who is a tough nut to crack.

I think Pac fought a better Hatton but a worse DLH.

Hatton was the same, in fact even better cause he was fighting at 140 and Bayless was the ref.

Oscar was better against FLoyd than Pac, but he was shot either way.

Also, Pac is naturally a much smaller fighter than Floyd. He's only had 3 fights in his career above 130.

That was not the point of my post.

To suggest that PBF only deserves 35% or 40% is laughable.

Pac went up in an abrupt manner two divisions higher to fight a former junior middleweight champ. I wonder if Floyd can do the same thing.

It should be 55-45 for Pac just to give recognition to Pac as the #1 P4P fighter today. Had Floyd not retire, he would have been beaten by better welters that he's continuously ducking. Respect is the term here and Pac deserves it.

Bob Arum has proven time and time again that respect means nothing when it comes to how much you get paid.

Floyd will have just as much to do wth the number of asses in the seats, and the PPV buys as Pac. Possibly even more so. And THAT is all that counts with Arum.

Now all of a suden why would he start talking all this respect ****?

Yeah but the arguments you presented point to these ridiculous factors. Dela Hoya was past his prime but he got the ridiculously bigger share of the pie. It's still who puts those butts in the seats and eyes to watch this fight. Next to retired dela Hoya and soon-to-retire Hatton is arguably Pacquiao in the crowd drawing ability.

So what your saying is the fact that Pac does worst numbers then Floyd he is still the bigger draw of the two???
