Did Mayweather conciously avoid high stamina fighters?

We saw that he was vulnerable against high stamina rough riders. He was given a lot of trouble against Castillo.

He did not fight prime Pacquiao. Did not fight Margarito. Did not fight Martinez. Did not fight Paul Williams. All these guys were high activity, physical, high stamina fighters.

Coincidence where the fights did just not pan out. Or are we on to something here?

as a counter puncher he naturally lowered alot of his opponents output. i thought khan would beat floyd as he seemed to not want to face guys with speed but then when he faced pac i knew no one was going to beat him

Of course he did indeed lower fighter's output. But besides Castillo who really had an impressive output to contain??

What high stamina fighters did he ever really get in the ring with besides Castillo?

If anything I think he avoided taller fighters. A taller fighter could mostly negate his shoulder roll, forcing him out of his comfort zone.

These guys are nightmares for anybody hence all of their close fights (except tail end of their careers). That being said both Williams and Martinez beat Floyd.

I think the trio of Martinez, Williams and Margarito is vastly underrated.

margarita is not underrated....if anything overrated...

god bless p will...and he was def a tough night for anyone....but a guy that got outboxed by Quintana aint beating Floyd......p will trained for stamina and offense...he trained to throw punches....but he was far from a complete fighter....Floyd would have solved him even if he had some trouble early

The Pacquiao that Floyd fought still had plenty of stamina.

    As for taller fighters:

    Tony Pep: 6'1

    Phillip N'Dou: 5'10.

    Oscar De La Hoya: 5'11.

    Canelo Alvarez: 5'9.

    Genaro Hernandez: 5'11.

    Diego Corrales: 5'10.

Margarito would have been target practice for Floyd.

JLC, Ndou, Chavez, Hatton, Marquez, Mosley, Maidana, Pacquiao..

    :?

That's eight guys with exceptional stamina, and I'd say most of his opponents had no worse than average. The only guys that really had low stamina were Canelo and to a much lesser extent Cotto and DLH.
