    Cotto put a ton of pressure on Floyd and forced him to brawl. It was all Cotto.

    Floyd's fans will never admit this though.

    @Rodney

    I said brawling TYPE of fight, I didn't say he brawled, but point taken. And for Mayweather that was as close to a brawl as I've seen from him, it was a very rough fight. To be honest I hadn't seen him in a fight that rough since Emmanuel Agustus.

    Bball said it best. The answer lies somewhere in the middle.

    Cotto has the type of skill-set that ensures that he'll have moments against just about anyone he fights, Mayweather included. Mayweather has become more stationary as he's gotten older, too. That said, Mayweather seemed to relish the idea of engaging Cotto in that kind of dog-fight, and gave the impression during and after the fight that he actually kind of enjoyed being tested by a determined and well schooled guy that he obviously respected.

    Mayweather is fighting more flat footed. That's really nothing new. When he fights that way, he's being offensive minded. Usually when he do that, he fills the opponent can't hurt him because of his defense. If his opponent don't land anything meaningful, he will stay flat footed and use his shoulder roll more! Mayweather is older, so his legs are not what they use to be, but it's not totally gone as most believe.

    This. No matter how much TRT Floyd puts on his balls, he can't avoid the inevitable.

    That's nothing new. Cotto always tires in the late rounds.

    All the way back against Mosley he was tiring.

    He just doesn't have that extra level of conditioning.

    He's good for about 9 rounds then he drops off.

    I think it just depends on how comfortable he is....when he is uncomfortable...he moves and makes the fighters reset and he resets....he does this with fighters who close fast with pressure....lately he has fought fighters who do not close quickly while applying pressure so he still is comfortable and can see majority of whats comming.

    He does this in spurts now because these heavier guys do not close fast...at times you will see him move quickly and reset he does this every fight but very limited now because of the type of fighters. It has nothing to dow ith his legs so much as it has everything to do with the type of fighters he is facing and the situation. Also when he lands a good punch and is expecting something back from the fighter watch how quickly he will retreat and create space...he does it quite a bit in his fights...but there is no need to us that movement we want all the time because his opponents do not demand it. Floyd is very calculated...im not sure he gets appreciated enough for it.

    If you look at his fights when he is uncomfortable or needs to move he does so extremely quick. He is not going to maintain that constant movement like at 130 and 135 now because he is heavier but his opponenets aren't closing fast either...last fighter to close fast was Ricky and Floyd used lots of movment in that fight because he had to, Ricky forced him to.

    Cotto did better actually center ring. He was landing stiff jabs, hooks and right and using movement to feint Mayweather back. But I think his gameplan was solely on trying to work Floyd on the ropes. It wasn't a brawl by any means. Watch Floyd/Chavez or against Burton for brawls.

    When Mayweather moved, Cotto cut him off and backed him to the ropes. He used his jab at times to control him. FLoyd was backing off for most of the fight, in case people's memories are short.

    Give Cotto credit, Floyd-***s.
