I don't think he meant to be on the ropes as much as he was. He underestimated Maidana's stamina and will to do whatever it took to win. He tried to change up after the third round but Maidana wasn't having that **** cause he gotten spoiled and Mayweather had to start digging deep to turn that **** around. To his credit, he did and it was a gritty up hill battle until the last three rounds. I'll bet he won't do that **** antmore.

 

Even on the ropes, he was still defending beautifully, Maidana mostly hit the shoulders/elbows.......

Mayweather outfought him like crazy on the inside and landed the much more telling blows/harder blows. He kicked Maidana's ass....

 

He underestimate Maidana... Plus its Floyd style to lay on the rope and use shoulder roll to avoid the punches, But unfortunately it didnt work, coz maidana has the right game plan.
