No, he is the super champion

Alvarez is now the regular champion. So put 2 and 2 together. (I seriously doubt he will skip the chance to become the unified champ at 154)

Right now Mayweather is fighting the mandatory challenger for his WBC belt.

If he fights Canelo, all respect to Mayweather - but I'd be very very surprised. The right thing to do is defend the WBA 154 belt - a division he claims to be the best in

Canelo is the WBA regular champ.

    Mayweather is the Super champ.

Mayweather never relinquished his belt. Here's the weird thing though and why the WBA is a mess. Mayweather is the Super Champ even though you're only supposed to be a Super Champ if you've unified. The WBA allowed the WBA Regular title to be on the line vs. The WBC champ. So now we have a WBC and WBA Regular champ. I believe Alvarez will now also be elevated to Super Champ along with Mayweather. Oh yeah, and Ring Magazine allowed Mayweather to keep his number 1 ranking at JMW, and yet still made Saturday's fight for the vacant Ring title.

So now JMW has two Super Champs and a guy who won the Ring title without beating Ring's number 1 ranked JMW.

Mayweather should be forced to defence his super title against Canelo in the future or be stripped of his title, end of story.

If he vacates it for Canelo it will look bad for him. Really if he doesnt want to fight at JMW anymore he should vacate it.

    This...
    And this :deal

Do I have something to say myself? Yes...
Floyd isn't going to fight Canelo. Maybe a couple of fights from now, but certainly not in his next one.

So Canelo is to Floyd, what Povetkin is to Wlad?

Ok, but going into that fight, Canelo was no.2 and Trout was no.3. The title was also vacant. So like I said, Canelo won the vacant Ring title without beating the Ring's no.1 ranked JMW.

according to the new ring rules anyone in the top 5 can fight for the ring title now so #4 can fight #5 and the ring title can be on the line
