The ref should have deducted a point for excessive holding, or at least give him a warning. I even remember him garbing and punching without getting warned, ****ing disgrace.
THere's no denying that Collazo fight changed Hatton. Graham was clear about that even shortly after the fight.
he didn't ruin him but a loss that big never leaves the fighter the same. i mean he lost at home with a country all there to support him, he lost his flawless streak, this has to damage a person's heart and make him feel like he let down his people. and he did take a great amount of damage, so physically he was worn down a bit. the KO had to have had some serious psycological and physical effects on him. that is why i have always said the hatton that fought pac wasn't the same that floyd.
When you go that long before losing your first fight it really takes alot out of you..Keep in mind that Lazcano hurt Hatton badly several times and he isnt a puncher. I think vs Pac hatton just flat out didnt think that Pac could hurt him until it was too late..It reminded me abit of Mayorga sticking his chin out vs Tito:-( Hatton just walked to Pac with his hands down.
nope. people are forgetting the details of the punch that knocked hatton into next week. he straight up fooled hatton using his speed. he faked the jab and connected with a bomb that, more than likely, would have knocked out any fighter even in the same vicinity of the LWW weight class. it had nothing to do with being gunshy or not having the same punch tolerance. the hitman got knocked out ****in cold by a huuuuuuuuge shot. i agree that the mayweather fight could definitely have been a big time confidence reducer for hatton, but after malignaggi hatton was extremely confident. he even said "i'm a beast at 140, no one can beat me [at 140]".
