It certainly was a dodgy decision, Bruno got no point reduction for excessive holding and even without it McCall was still ahead.
this is an argument that ive never seen done before, ive only seen pieces of the fight so i cant be of much use arguing the call dont many feel Holmes beat McCall
Nah. Bruno was ****ed at the end and if there had been 15 - hell, 13 - rounds McCall would have stopped him. Bruno won enough early rounds though.
McCall was a powerhouse better puncher than Bruno, but I guess Bruno got to him mentally and Bruno had his way. By the time McCall had him on ***** street it was too late. Had McCall been agressive earlier he could have won instead he did a Rocky Juarez.
McCall did not turn up for the fight until way past the halfway point of the bout, so in effect other than win by knockout or total domination he had lost. Bruno won fair and square, the last few rounds were not pretty but Bruno did what he had to do.
I recall Bruno won by atleast 4 rounds on my scorecard. He was out on his feet in the 12th, and if it had been one more round then McCall may have stopped him. He was hanging on in the last round. As usual Bruno had zero stamina, looking like Mr Universe with his muscles, but gassed way too quickly in alot of fights. Would have been better off being slimmer with less muscle and faster.
