It was great for Ward because thats all he had. But there have been much better lefthooks to the body... Lopez GGG Barrera Chavez Oscar Cotto Frazier and I'm sure plenty more

Chavez is one of them. Ruben Olivares as well.

Fighting Harada's is also extremely under rated.

This may or may not the greatest left hook to the body but it definitely looks to be up there with the hardest and most hurtful looking ones.

I dont know- he finished alot of boxers off with that hook to the body .Sure others were more skilled with it but Ward stopped alot of boxers with that hook.
In his prime it was a feared weapon.

The best left hook to the liver was perfected south of the border. The Mexican El Gancho was delivered superbly by Ruben Olivares, Carlos Zarate, Rodolfo Gonzalez, Julio Cesar Chavez and by the master of the punch, Kid Azteca.

If that was true he would've won a championship somewhere in his career. He was very effective against 2nd, 3rd rate fighters ,( And quite a few of them defeated him) He was exciting and had the heart of a lion. But I can think of about 50 different fighters who had a better hook to the body against far better competition than what he faced.. Its very easy to look good against average competition . Just watch Lomo.
