This guy got seemingly in deep trouble in so many fights and was on wobbly legs, but he was never ever KO'd spark out. In the 2 fights he was TKO'd he took SAVAGE beatings.

His chin was pretty solid except for against fast-handed fighters.

Weird as in Miguel Cotto's chin refers to itself in the third person?
Strong legs and fast recovery. But sometimes taking the full count is better than the sustained beating. Well, probably most of the time.

Yeah but he had the best knee game in history. Credit where credit is due the guy could sniff out a gammy knee in the blink of an eye in a crowd of thousands.

Yes his chin was weak, he was very woozy at times. He was prone to win or lose, get beat by lesser opponent s once in a while. Like what's up with world kid? Cotto on paper shoulda beat him like he did that Asian dude before hand while he was with roach. When he beat Ricardo Torres I swear he couldn't help trying to do a backflip. Trinidad before him suffered from flash knockdowns but always hung on to clear the cobwebs. Speaking of bad chins, what about juanma? He had the same punch resistance as a washed up Sergei kovalev. Cottos speed was vast differing too lol.

I dont care what anyone says cotto had heart and took some tremendous beatings. I think taking a knee or getting badly hurt by a punch is completely human.

Cotto was a tough-as-nails warrior. Like the time he ducked GGG to drain Geale to 157lbs for the MW title and KO'd a ghoul.
Now you might be thinking, hey, that's an incredibly cheap and disgusting move to drain an ex MW champ to a weight he'd never fought at to try to weaken him so much. And you'd be right, but at least it's a 3lb drain, there's an obvious tactic and advantage there if you're happy to have zero integrity ...

Now imagine being such a worm-minded diva piece of filth that you demand a 159lb catchweight in another MW fight. Put yourself in that position, it's the 160lb title ... and you demand a catch of 159lbs. You just have to take that one pound away from your opponent, you can't just leave it alone and fight at 160. Who does this? Who? Imagine actually thinking like that and going public with it.

Really rather a good chin, which was only ever compromised by noted bangers with (as @pistal47 noted) handspeed, your Zabs, Shanes, Mannys, and Ricardo Torres at 140 (Paulie, a non-banger with handspeed, seemed to rock him with a counter late in the 9th round of their fight, but that was more due to Cotto's feet being crossed, as I recall).

Very tough man overall, it required serious accumulation of heavy punishment to wear him down on the two occasions in which he was stopped.

I'm very thankful that JMM never followed through on those comeback plans.

he had a decent chin or he couldn't have been in the fights he was in. He was hit cleanly at times and his skin cut up rather easily, so eventually if he was getting hit there would be a problem. He was a warrior and definite hall of fame fighter. Not a great fighter, but hall of fame.

Could be very vulnerable up through the middle, never met an uppercut he didn't want to eat.

That is the problem with the warrior mentality. They hit and then they are in range to be hit. Even Tommy Hearns got hit by Duran a few times because of his need to go for knockout. Tommy could have sat back in many fights but he wanted to score the KO and it open them up..
