He didn't originally want to I don't think, he just never recovered from the beating he took in the first round, and instead of re-grouping and doing what was neccessary to win, he went into street fight mode and became so frustrated that he lost any semblance of a gameplan. He really just fought an awful fight and showed weaknesses, moreso in his mental strength than technically. I am really anxious to see how he bounces back from that terrible performance.
I thought he regrouped fine, after the KD he was doing exactly what he was doing before the KD. His jab just wasn't affecting Vic who was blocking it with his right hand and after that weapon had been taken away Mijares had nothing.
Look man i made a thread about that i gave him his prop's and to his fan's :deal Go and look for it.It's not that hard.:deal
Mijares had no jab to speak of, which is usually his best weapon. He seemed content to slug it out even during exchanges where he was clearly uncomfortable just because he couldn't get his head on straight enough to come up with a plan B. He was fighting purely on instinct at times it seemed. He lacked the mental strength I thought he had. Apparently that was just pure arrogance.
Well in that case, I doesn't matter what Mijares wanted to or didn't want to do. Darchinyan dictated the entire fight.
yes he wanted to show he was a real mexican to that crowd..i think he fought the CROWDS fight and not HIS fight
You said it right there. He fought a very bad fight. Was he not prepared for Vic's power, speed, different angles, awkward style? Was he overconfident, thinking it was gonna be an easy fight? Did he show lack of mental strength when things turned bad? I think the answer to all of the above is yes. I'm very interested to see his comeback. Hopefully, all the people that regarded him as a top p4p fighter all this time were not dead wrong about him. But it's his task to prove it.
I highly doubt that since Mijares doesn't know what to do in that fight. So I highly doubt he was thinking of stopping Vic.
IMO Mijares let Vic draw him into a punchers fight, instead of boxing. Mijares was banging on his chest taking shots acting like a brawler. I want to see how well he can put himself together and continue his career...
