I remember reading somewhere that mike had boxing shoes with lifts specially built in, which elevated him to the 5'11.5 height we sometimes see on the tale of the tape for his fights. They supposedly made him more explosive, but if true i wonder why other boxers dont wear them. In any case tyson was a short heavyweight and im sure his handlers or even himself frequently bought elevator shoes for squaring off against opponents, media pieces, those sort of things.
