If he is back, than he must not consider 140 (IMHO). Crawford and Postol would be too much, because of size (and skills, too)........
He fought (and lost to Crawford) in the amateurs so I'd like to see how it played out in the pros after Garcia has shaken off some rust.
Wasted is probably a bit strong since he was the top guy at his weight and moving up pfp rankings when he was last in the ring so he already accomplished more than most fighters ever come close to. Still, he did waste 2 1/2 years from his prime or near prime years and that's if he fought tomorrow. By the time he does get back in the ring and takes a tune up or two it will be 3 years since he is back to the level of opposition he was last facing. Being out of the ring for close to 3 years and fighting 2-3 times a year(he fought 3 times each of his last 3 years) means he's missed out on 6-9 fights. Since he was already fighting at a championship level that means he missed out on some big fights the last 3 years. He's still only 28 so he has time to accomplish a lot if he keeps fighting but he can't get back the years and fights he's already missed out on.
I don't think he's signing to TMT. Scene says he wants to be really careful as to his next promoter. They might even make their own promotional outfit. Yeah, I have my doubts. I hope he goes with Roc Nation. TMT won't pay him the kind of money he demands, and Roc Nation has a lot of capital to waste. If he goes with TMT, I can see him getting in another lawsuit.
It would be very interesting to see (2017 or 2018) Garcia vs Lomachenko (130 or 135). I consider this as a only great and competitive match (and solid payday for both fighters) at divisions below 140, but to be realistic - possibility for this event is no more than 10%...
Hes still in his 20s so if he gets back soon, he should be fine. Also because of who his family is, he's constantly in the gym, so he shouldn't be too rusty
