Or was Vargas always around the Martinez/Salido level. It's crazy to think that Mikey easily took care of Martinez, aside from the knockdown Martinez landed on him, and was schooling Salido easily on the cards(though Salido was makig the fight tough). I hope he gets back in ring asap.

Vargas was always at this level. He is just a strong brawler, who would lose against pure boxers.

But thats, why i like him. He is like a new Gatti - Bloody wars with swollen eyes and cuts.

Cuts definitely affect a performance though, and Miura really messed his eye up.

I don't think that he took years off of Vargas. He fought 2 very tough guys and should've won tonight. Some time off and he will be ok.

I like Mikey, he was one of my favorite boxers in 2012-2013, but Loma would box his ears off imo. Just a bad style for Mikey. Mikey is boxer/counter puncher, he didnt cut the ring off well in the Burgos fight, I think Loma is all wrong for him.

Mikey is more technical than Vargas, that's why is was much easier, because he didn't get lured into a brawl. Mikey used brains and finesse to beat Salido, not mentioning that brutal headbutt that broke Mikey's nose:deal

Mikey can match skill for skill with Loma, and wouldn't get tricked into being the aggressor. That would be Lomas role, while Mikey sits back and picks his shots. That would be a hell of a fight though.:good

Making excuses to tear down Salido doing so well, which of course directly undermines Loma finishing against him as well as he did.

No Vargas isn't ****ing shot, and no Miura didn't take years off his career, that fight was 7 months ago, if anyone should shot by now its Salido, Salido is a beast and was too much for Vargas to handle tonight.

So many great fights to be made around 130 ... You can match Garcia, Vargas, Salido, Loma, Walters, Miura, Russell and a few others and they would all be great fights. This weight class has the potential to deliver the best fights over the next couple of years. Let's just hope the right fights get made and it looks like they will.

No way is Vargas shot. His style mixed well with Salido. You have to box Salido to beat him, like JMM and Mikey did. Loma played into Salidos hand, which was why Salido beat him first time out. Next time Loma uses more skill and knocks him out late:deal

Loma has nothing to worry about.

Mikey started well but ended poorly. It was his 31st match.
Rocky started well twice and totally fell apart twice. It was his 33rd and 34th match.
Vargas started out well and fell apart quickly. It was his 25th match.

Loma started out poorly because he was being incessantly fouled and then closed the best of any of them and had Siri on the verge of collapse in the 12th. IT WAS HIS SECOND MATCH.

    Think about it.:deal

And another thing, why did Salido have to foul constantly???? He didn't have to with Vargas and Martinez.:think It was because he knew Loma too much for him from the opening bell.:nod

I didn't rate Vargas that highly to begin with so I was expecting a close fight.

Salido has his limitations as Garcia and Gamboa showed.

Against the next level of opposition he is usually able to enforce his will at some point though.
