Just curious what peoples opinions are on this:

Did Mosley hurt Cotto and back him up for the second half of their fight?

Or did Cotto realize that he had a comfortable lead on the cards and decided to play it safe?

He didn't hurt Cotto, he got his respect enough to make him change his game for a round.... Corley hurt Cotto. Torres hurt Cotto. Judah stunned Cotto but didn't hurt him to the extent that Torres did. Mosley even less than.

Cotto was hurt during that fight ... you wouldn't tell by the expression on his face but he was hurt by those right hands that Mosley was landing ... at first when he started to back up he was retreating ... but as he got his legs back and got into a rhythm he started boxing.

I think it was more of Cotto knowing that he wasnt gonna be able to hurt Mosley and he decided to counter more and exchange less..Mosley also got his respect..

I agree. Mosley didn't hurt Cotto but Cotto knew he was winning the fight and the only way for Molsey to win was by ko. When Mosley came out overly aggressive Cotto played it smart. A fighter can get dangerous when desperate but I don't see it as Cotto was being beaten back or running.

First thing he said to Max Kellerman in his post fight interview was after the cut he decided to win the fight the easy way.

Cotto was probably a little hurt to the body, but he wouldn't have been backing up if he had needed the rounds.

Mosley was the stronger fighter, thus Cotto fought a smart fight on his backfoot.. Cotto may have been hurt at times, but he wasn't badly or severely hurt.. Just because Cotto was backed up doesn't take any credit away from him..

I agree with this. I think Cotto may have been a little hurt or maybe stunned for a moment there, but if he was hurt, he wasn't hurt that bad. Cotto was able to out box Mosley too and counter him. Cotto showed how smart of a fighter he was in this fight.
