I hear a bit of talk about Naz`s poor condition, rubbish.

Naseem Hamed got himself in his best possible condition, whether he was at his peak physically or mentally I dont know, possibly not but he was certainly not under-trained, that IS disrespectful to MABs performance.

I heard Naz say on more than one occassion that this is the big fight he has dreamed of, the mega-fight, the big occassion to shine & become a legend.

Even being interviewed in his dressing room after the fight he says `I trained so so hard for this fight, I really felt in my heart I was gonna knock him out.`

No, he wasn't exposed. Hamed's flaws had been glaringly obvious from day one, it was always going to be the case that the first intelligent elite fighter he faced would outbox him comfortably, and that's exactly what happened.

I suppose he was exposed in the eyes of people who believed he was an elite level fighter before the Barrera fight, but I didn't. Barrera simply had the quality to exploit weaknesses already apparent in Hamed's game which Hamed's previous opponents did not. Nothing new was revealed in Hamed that night IMO.

Yup. Naz never made any excxuses he lost fair and square and gave credit to MAB.

I thought Naz was exposed before , his lack of defense and taking preparation lightly was his near end of reign.

I am sad to say this, But i agree with you....to an extent.

I think Naseem Hamed was a great fighter who fought in a very Strange style that was effective when he fought fighters that did not know how to crack his weird style. Sadly, Barrera knew how to crack his style..by going to the left.

Naseem beat great fighters..and like most have already said he did it in a entertainig way which made the audience excited about the fight.

With the style that Barrera has, I feel someone who was brutally focused would have always came along to beat him. All of that flying in the ring shyt, jumping over the ropes, doing flips when getting back up will confuse and intimidate SOME Opponent's..The thing is that it will work on SOME fighters not all....Do you think that shyt would get to fighters such as Hatton or Pac?

    NO.

Though irespect what he did. But if he was really great, he wold have rematched Barrera instead of running and never to bew heard of again.....

Yes, Hamed was exposed by Barrera as the over-hyped, over-rated fraud he was. And many people were very thankful for the service Barrera did to boxing in this regard.

The guy made 60 Million in that short time. What other fighter can do that in that amount of time and at that age?

I cannot think of any besides Mike Tyson in his early 20's.

That basically answers your question. That's the epitome of being exposed.

He was exposed in the sense that he was built up to be MUCH more than he was. I always thought any of the three mexicans would take him to school.

They do, and Morales stops him late in the fight.

I can't believe the delusional posters on this forum that are claiming Hamed was once something very special. He wasn't. He got by on being charismatic, and knocking out C level fighters for the majority of his career.

The Kevin Kelley fight. Is that some kind of great performance? Kelley never had any punch resistance, and Hamed made hard work of what really should have been a blow-out. This was prime Hamed and he kissed the canvas twice, getting tagged from the opening bell.

He did seriously hurt Sanchez with a brutal knockout, but did you see the state of Hamed's face at the end of the fight? He was getting tagged constantly. It's a myth that the Prince had great reflexes. He couldn't get away from punches unless he was fighting complete stiffs.

It may seem as though I'm being harsh on Hamed. He made it hard for me to respect him by fading into obscurity after his first professional loss.

Exposed may be a strong word, but he was owned that night. Morales would have given him a beating as well.
