She trained him for Oubaali and Gaballo — 2 KOs. Nonito's a 20 year pro. He's at the point where he knows what he needs to do in the ring. Just like Floyd never really needed Roger or his dad, but it was the emotional support by their presence. Pac hadn't needed Roach for like 5 years, but probably kept him around for reasons beyond training/starter development.
Donaire is an experienced professional but it always helps to have a great coach who can provide another perspective and give advice that the boxer may not have picked up on himself. This is especially true since Donaire was hit so hard he forgot where he was in the first round, he may have lasted longer and taken a knee if he had a top trainer who he trusts to calm him down and give him the proper guidance. Would be interesting to hear what his corner told him in between rounds 1 and 2.
I hope, for Donaire's sake, that his wife actually loves him and isn't a Jin Mosley II (because she kind of gives off that same slimy, entitled vibe). God, Jin was pure filth.
Why you keep bringing quabalo’s? Like it’s a great accomplishment.Quabali and Gaballo combined =Quabalo. Both combined isn’t even that great G.
It's all pure speculation at this point but I can't help but be reminded of the entire Casimero-Donaire debacle. Neither side came off great in that: Casimero's team obviously were at fault for making those remarks and escalating what should have been a non-issue, but Nonito and Rachel didn't do themselves any favors. Rachel was bragging about how she had the ability to cancel the fight and seemed to be a bit drunk on the power she had as Nonito's manager, and Nonito was making fun of Casimero for not making as much money as him (which is really quite low given how Casimero had to start his career in the Philippines while Donaire mostly fought in the US). That entire incident really soured me on Donaire...
I am not a big Floyd fan. But Floyd has one of the greatest corners of all time. Floyd was a ATG, but you got to attribute a whole lot of that to his Dad always being there for him. Really, I don't like Floyd Jr much, but if you take Floyd Sr out of his corner I think it will affect his ability a bit in his late career, and a lot earlier in his career. Even fighters who have fought 20+ years, still can't analyze a fight they are in as well as a coach in their corner can. Coaches are there for a reason, Floyd didn't just need support, he needed a man as smart as he was that could correct or validate his work after each round and help him adjust. Floyd Senior is essential to Floyd Junior, no matter which way you slice it.
At this stage in his career the trainer is a glorified time manager. He knows what to do to prepare for a fight. Beside that they get to keep the money in family.
Yet here you are wasting your valuable time to give a simpleton-type response. Next time, I will dumb it down further for you and your ilk since this thread is perplexing some of our intellectually handicapped ESB members.
