Most of the times we see things eye-to-eye mate, but I gotta disagree with ya on this one. No way this was a fix. Oscar is just done.
Pac did a great thing. He made ODLH look like the girl he is. He also has balls of steel. BUt, I am not totally convinced. Remember, Pac couldn't legitimately beat JMM.
This is ****ing stupid, don't you think if he was really trying to throw the fight he would had tried to lose bia UD? He has pride, there's no way he would let Manny DOMINATE him like that if he really wanted to throw the fight. He's supposed to be a boxing star, quitting on the stool HAD to be very embarrassing for him.
there are a lot of stupid threads floating around now. it was inevitable that someone will eventually create a stupid poll. :-(
I'm not gonna say the fight is fixed, but Oscar does get a percentage of Pacquaios future earning, and one thing a lot people are overlooking is that Oscar has promoted the two frontrunners for Manny's next fight: Hatton and PBF. Oscar will make a killing with either fight and even more if he stages the hatton fight in england.
If this win was legit....lets see what Manny does against his next welterweight opponent..oh wait....he wont fight anybody outside the golden boy stable.. No need for thinking that GBP are fixing fights.. Manny should fight for a welter title. lol.
it doesn't make sense even if dlh gets a percentage of the promotions. dlh-hatton would be bigger than any pac-hatton fight. after ricky, he'd get a chance again to fight mayweather and the money he could make would be alot bigger than anything he could get from pacman. dlh was just weight-drained and old, that's why he got that kind of beating. and don't forget that pac threw in the best performance of his career, he was too slick the whole fight and out of dlh's range then he comes in with bliding speed. that's the reason dlh lose thoroughly. no one fixes a fight and results in a terrible beating like what happened especially if you're a legend and has a status to protect.
Someone please explain to me how getting your head punched in for 8 rounds = 'throwing the fight'...please... DLH could have gone down in rd 7 or 8 - you could see his legs were gone, but he was determined to stay upright, so much so that he hardly threw a punch in those 2 rounds...now why would a man continue to take such punishment if he was intending to throw the fight? He could have gone down a couple of times in each of those rounds and his corner could have thrown in the towel. But no, DLH's devious plan was to let Manny smash the **** out of him so he could retire after the 8th round...DLH was in full control the whole fight, and the joke is on all of us, right guys?
I would like to officially announce to all the posters on this thread that I hereby renounce any belief that Oscar threw this fight. I was just straight up wrong about that... http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=109457
I dont know, at times while looking how Hoya couldnt fire single shot back and was "unable" to get off the ropes reminded me of some Rocky movie...but I guess (since alot of knowlegable posters say that win was legit) Im wrong.
I think DLH was just drained byond all imagination at 147. He looked gaunt and if the punch stats I read are correct then he threw 10 a round... which only a Hopkins fan would argue is enough to win a fight, not throw it lol
