Pac plan was to fight the winner of floyd-marquez but floyd had an injury so the fight was postpone. Pac is not gonna wait until december or early next year to fight again. So a cotto fight had to happen. It was the easiest fight to make cuz both are promoted by top rank.

No, he just bypassd Shane lol...

They say Cotto beat Shane. Shane lost to Cotto late 2007... Cotto lost to Margarito mid 2008...Shane beat Margarito early 2009. Dapidran beat Hatton May 2, 2009. Cotto fought Clottey June 13 2009. Shane asked Pac for a fight for a whole month as he spoke to many boxing sites and gave many interviews after PAc beat Hatton, and before Cotto decisioned Clottey, and Shane even agreed to fight Dapidran at a catch weight. Dapidran chose Cotto over Shane who called Floyd AND PAc out.

For a month and 12 days PAc had no opponent, and Shane was available having beaten Margarito in January I believe. There is no such thing as cherry picking in boxing. That is a fans fantasy thought...nothing more.

    :yep
but Rooney said pac cherrypick cotto... I can't believe it .
    funny as hell.
cotto could KO pac and I say the fight between cotto and pac is 50/50.

This guy is insisting that pac should fight mosley instead of cotto..

then what? claim again that pac cherrypick mosley that mosley is old and pac is fighting shots? :patsch :lol:

Cotto is not a cherry pick for any one, but i still feel that Mosley-Mayweather are still the more dangerous fighter's to pit against pac and roach knows this. When i say dangerous i mean style wise.

You can't cherry-pick elite fighters. That said, he did fight Cotto rather than Mosley cause he matches up better against him.

I wish Floyd would "cherry-pick" someone that tough. BAM pac destroys both of Mayweather's toughest ever opponents and then moves on to the fighters May's been ducking for years. Regardless of outcomes, that's a real man.

I believe he really thinks he did....I mean cmon Mosley did everything possible for Pac to except the challenge more than any other fighter out there and still didn't want it....Its to obvious....But he will have a big surprise when Cotto delivers that devastating body shot K.O. :smoke

The question is, would Pacquiao have chosen Cotto if Cotto had looked great against Clottey? If yes, then it's not cherry picking. If no, you can come to your own conclusions. That said, I think that Cotto is too good to be considered a "cherry-picked" opponent but at the same time, he was chosen because he looked vulnerable.

It's funny how Pac fans get offended by the term CHERRY PICKER.

If you claim Mayweather cherry picked Baldomir, Hatton, Judan, Oscar.

    Then Pac cherry picked COTTO
