Did Pac fight a legit SWW when he fought Margarito?

I keep hearing how it shouldnt count as a legitimate title fight since it was fought at a catchweight. My argument is, not only was Marg a SWW come fight night, he came into the ring within the SMW limits weighing 163lbs. Now if a fighter wants to starve and dehydrate himself in order to try and gain an advantage and manipulate his weight class, that's on him. Why should we have sympathy for a fighter who damn near kills himself to make weight when he's purposely fighting in the wrong weight class to begin with? This is why in my opinion, they should go back to same day weigh ins.

it's not a legit title because neither had ever won a meaningful fight at the limit.

it's essentially a WW fight where pac let margo come in over weight.

same day weigh ins would be good however and would even the playing field across the boards.

The fact that there was a title on the line I can understand why people call it BS. What I DONT understand is how they can say Pac didnt fight a legit SWW when the fact is, Marg weighed in within the SWW limits and even entered the ring weighing 163lbs.

he fought a LMW, not a very good one but he was a LMW.

however, I believe the fight does more for pac's WW legacy than anything else.

as i said it's like a WW fight where marg can come in heavy.

LOL, DLH had some big wins at 154 and won belts there.

What exactly was Margo's record at 154?

Wasn't that fight against Hoya actually at the JMW limit, and wasn't Hoya the reigning champ? Whatever, a catchweight fight against a guy without any wins against a top 50 JMW is basically the same thing.

The fact there was a title on the line is not what i'm questioning. Its the fact that many claim it shouldnt be legit since it was fought at a catchweight and claim Marg was weight drained.

If you're like me and don't give a **** about titles, then that fight at 150 was a legit one.

no from the points your making there is no criticism. the fact it was at 150 rather than 147 was so margo wouldn't be drained.
