Right now! How is that up for debate? lol Given that PAC is not a ture Jr WW...and the level of opposition he's ran through? There is no doubt PAC is able be successful moving up to weights that are not his own b/c of his talent level. Only a few great boxers have that kind of success and ability to do so. Leonard, Floyd, Duran, DLH, Mosley ect....these guys are operating with a higher talent and natural ability than 90% of all boxers.

No comment.:D Seriously....I know no one is really idiots here but there are surely biased posters to say the very least and they prove that with what they post. It's laughable in many cases.

    Two things.

    1. It doesn't change the fact the he was P4P and past his prime at the same time, all I'm proving is that it's possible. Wether you get to being past prime due to cutting weight, longevity or just the way your body is made up is pointless here, what matters in this argument is that you can be rated P4P and still be past your prime.

    2. Double standards because you have to apply the weight issue to DLH for cutting weight too, and by doing that it diminishes Pac's win over DLH even more because now not only can we agree that Oscar was way past is best, and that he was potentially shot and weight drained, but that cutting weight like that, does affect a fighter.

So, you see what I'm getting at...right lol:good Pac's opposition is getting better with the Cotto fight added to his resume, but other than that, we pretty much agree with each other.

why because he lost to pac he is past prime, but if he won he would be prime. a couple of bad performances dont make a fighter past prime e.g pac didn't look to good in his last 3 fights at superfeatherweight and people thought he was on a downslide but obviously he wasn't. just because barrera had a couple of bad performances it does not mean he was past prime, as i have showed you he went on to beat decent fighters after that.

you are just making excuses to justify your belief that pac is overated and fights bums which is not true.

Just like we saw in Barrera, we will one day see it in Pac and Floyd that they are past it, but still good. Jones went from being past it, to shot ,back to past it, to shot, and is now past it lol... When you do not fight back, and used to be a fighter who always fought back...that is when I consider you shot. Morales was shot after the Pac rematch. Barrera was past it against Barrera fight 1, and Pac and Floyd are still in their prime.

Sure...DLH had to cut weight but you also have to factor in PAC had to MOVE UP! Two weight classes to make the fight happen. No one gave PAC a chance including me. The size and the styles advantages for Oscar made it impossible for me to say PAC would win. The difference is PAC was moving up in wieght to fight a very proven and IMO a better boxer where Jones was moving down in weight against the #1 contender at 175 in Tarver. Jones was the only one at a disadvantage going in to his fights post HW. PAC is at a disadvantage being smaller, fighting outside his natrual weight class. DLH, yea...he was at disadvantage too cutting weight but he was fighting a smaller guy.

You can't just look at Barrera's record after the fight or immediately before the fight and say for sure he was prime. Just because an elite fighter has still got mad skill, and can beat 99.9% of the boxers in his division, doesn't mean he is in his prime. Look at Bernard Hopkins, the man is 44 or 45 or whatever, and is ranked no lower than #3 or #4 on the pound 4 pound list. Does anyone really think Bernard is in his prime? His prime was probably back in 99'-02' or so when he was knocking out guys like Tito Trinidad and Glen Johnson. The fact that he is still dominating at an older age, shouldn't fool you into thinking he is at his utmost peak. When Barrera fought Pacquiao he was 29 years old (yes younger than Pac is now), however he had been a pro since 89' when he was 15 years old. He had already been in 20 title fights, and had wars with McKinney, Morales, Jones, etc. Barrera's physical prime was probably from about 96'-00' or so, people forget that many people already thought he (MAB) was washed up when he faced Morales that first time in 2000! The fact that he still dominated after being in so many wars and fights, is simply a testament to his greatness.

Pacquiao 5 years removed from putting a shellacking on Barrera, wars with Morales and Marquez, 4 weight classes later is still in his prime. However, Barrera, 3 years removed from his first war with Morales, 2 wars with Morales, and one weight class later is already past his prime.

Please get the **** outta here. Barrera just can't beat Pacquiao, Pacquiao would beat his ass 10/10 times.

Go play fight night or something.
