Absolutely not. He was still intelligently defending himself and avoiding almost everything Pacquiao threw towards the end.

I don't think Cotto was seriously hurt in the fight period since he said he was fine afterwards. Pacquiao wasn't landing much of anything in the last few rounds, and that's why I don't think he deserved the KO.

I think Cotto coulda survived the 12th and made it to the end....but i don't question the TKO.

So because he made it to the 12th round, any medical concern is out of the window?
So because he took 2 extra rounds of beating, might as well give him another?

What will that accomplish? A UD vs a TKO but at the same increase his chances of ****ing dying. Brilliant.

3 minutes or 3 rounds, the whole point of stopping the fight has actually little to do how much time is left. It has to do with the boxers health.

Cotto was just running at the end, there was no puncher's chance, there was a runner's chance. If Pac couldn't cut the ring off and had Cotto survived the last barrage of Pac's tko punches then yes, there was a chance he could have ran to a decision.

I don't know, i think what you said makes too much sense. And because it makes too much sense, some people might be confused.

I don't think Cotto deserved to get knocked out after all the punishment that he had already gone through. He possibly still has a career ahead of him. The stoppage was definatley necessary. I don't wanna see fighters get hurt in there and Cotto doesn't deserve to be beaten until he is lying on the canvas like Diaz or Hatton.

If anything the KO should have came in rounds 8 or 9 instead of forcing Miguel to run for 4 rounds. Miguel is a warrior but after round 8 Miguel stopped fighting and went into survival mode. Its not a way a fighter like Miguel wants to loose...by running and surviving.

the stoppage was warranted but it shouldve been earlier than the 12th. he wasnt looking good in the 12th but he was looking a lot worse in the 9th i believe it was.

if thats the case then why not stop ot ealier. and why didnt the corner stop it? isnt that what they are paid to do. everything you said was true but what you have to admit is that the timing was poor.

You are 100% correct. I don't think anybody can argue against that.

    Cotto could have went on!!
too many early stoppages spoiling matches taking away boxers chances in matches nowadays!! what happened to the days of the wars!! toe to toe man against man!!

Yeah there's risks but THIS IS BOXING!!!
thats why people like Pacman get in excess of 20 mil for less than an hours work... more than i've seen in my life... Cottos corner could have pulled him out or he coulda quit on his stool his choice his life!!
