Does anyone feel Manny Pacquiao was impressive last night or do you feel Brandon Rios was the perfect opponent to make him look good?

I feel the Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather fight will now become a reality, If Pacquiao loses again he will lose much negotiation at the table. There is way too much money for this fight not to happen and with Pac looking good against Rios I think his next bout will be against Mayweatehr in the USA.

Floyd knows he can beat Manny and another defeat for Manny will be curtains so im afraid its now or never for this fight.

Failing this fight where do you see manny going for his next opponent

Lets just be honest here, Pacquaio was never done. People who thought he was done is buying into the media crap. He clearly won vs bradley and he was dominating marquez and the fact that he got KTFO was because the pressure the people were putting on him with all the controversy fights they had before, so he wanted to go for the KO and got caught carelessly. Pacquaio is still easily top 3 p4p.

The fight went as I expected. My only worry going into the fight was how did the KO affect Pac. Apparently, it didn't affect him much, if at all. Rios was tailor made for Pac's style.

Marquez would have been up on all official scorecards had Pacquiao got up from the knockdown in round 6, how is that dominating?

Pac is still Pac, he'll dominate punching bags and struggle vs a fighter that can box at a high level.

Not really looked the way he always does against guys who are there to be hit. Put him in there with a boxer and he would, struggle. Does anyone really think he would look like that against Bradley or JMM? Of course not, he excels against that style that Rios has.

but if the fight would have went on... Pacquiao would have the advantage as Marquez was bleeding badly from the nose and could have been a TKO win for Pac.

Pacquiao looked good - just like the Pacman of old - but I think he was sandbagging this fight a bit. In th later rounds, I think Pacman could have destroyed Rios if that's what he had wanted to do.

    how'd that 1st fight go?

it's hard to say what would have happened had the KO not occurred. It wasn't like the 6th round was a blowout in Pac's favor..it was actually pretty even.

Only watched two rounds, Rios isn't an elite fighter so I got bored, let me know when Pacman is done sparring and has a real fight lined up.

Yeah, he looked good. This was the late-career, more cautious Pac that outboxed Mosley and Bradley at the higher weights. Not the younger guy who was knocking down everyone below 140 without fear of their power.

Like most people I liked the younger version, but at the larger weights he's just had to learn to be more careful of the other guy's power.

If Brandon had been able to really get at Manny's body, like it looked like he might do a few times, I'm not sure Manny would have been able to handle it.

But this isn't really Manny's weight, so I've always been impressed with what he's done at welter, and how he's matured as a boxer. In that respect, I thought his fight against Bradley was probably his most impressive.

No. It was Brandon Rios and did absolutely nothing to quantify how he would do against a skilled and fast opponent in my opinion.

All it showed to me was Manny wasn't shot to pieces. Because any competition from Rios and I would have called for him to retire. Rios does not belong in the same ring as Manny.

Absolute tune up fight coming off a KO loss. Make sure he is "OK," now you get back to real business. I just don't see how anybody who has followed both fighters could honestly say Rios had any kind of chance. It is obvious what this fight was: get Manny confidence, time in the ring, and a win, without taking too much damage.

I personally don't have a problem with the fight. I just thought charging $70 for it was laughable. Which is why I let somebody else pay for it. I wasn't going to spend a dime on it. It was actually quite boring and went exactly how I expected. Not that it wasn't a good performance, just lacked any kind of drama and was predetermined outcome.

Manny isn't shot because he got KO'd...it simply means he got caught being reckless and he paid the price.
