Just wanted to put this idea out there.

By saying like they needed more time to train, more time to let pacquiao's ear injury heal, basically saying that a March fight would be disadvantageous for them.

I know they initially said that for pacquiao to fight, it either has to be around March or after May because of the elections. But could this have been a smokescreen?

They may have hoped that Mayweather would see this as huge advantage for him given all those circumstances and agree immediately for the March 13 fight which he did.

Some are saying that Mayweather's quick agreement to the fight surprised Pacquiao's camp. But maybe they were banking on it in the first place?

    What do you guys think?

What I think is that Mayweather said that he was fine with fighting in either March or May. Pacquiao was presented with both dates and chose March because of the elections. How exactly is it to Floyd's disadvantage to take the fight in March?

I'm thinking they did that to make Floyd fight him. Floyd is afraid of taking risks.

because every time roach takes a dump, it was some brilliant tactical move against another fighter

I can only think of one thing, PBF needing another tune up fight. PBF vs M Hatton.

Nah, I think Pac's camp would've liked for him to have a bit of a rest, particularly after his injuries against Cotto. Pac would've probably wanted a break too. But there's just too much money to be made from this fight and everyone out to make a buck was pushing hard for it. Pac has a hard time saying no to people, as evidenced by him signing 2 contracts with Top Rank and GBP a little while back. Plus he's got balls of steel, and he wasn't ever going to turn it down.

two i enumarated, but just my opinion, would be roach's comment that they needed more time to prepare for mayweather, and he also said that the ear injury he got from last fight would play a role if they fight too early. But again thats just going by what they said.

That's all good and everything, but Pacquiao is the one who picked out the date. Mayweather was good with either date. They took the deal to Pac and he chose the date of March 13th. Your theory makes no sense givne this information.

thats what i was trying to point out though, pacquioa picked the date initially. then tried to back-off after a few days, they then started saying all those reasons why a march 13 fight would be a bad idea after all. thats when we got the news that mayweather agreed in principle to the March 13 fight

PAC loves to play CHESS. i think he got FLOYD just right where he wanted him to be. FLOYD must have thought that PAC won't agree because of such a short time from his last WAR with COTTO. Now, FLOYD is on the HOT SEAT. I'm sensing a DUCKING taking place, definitely, not PAC! :hat

Nah.....I think your reaching on this one. You don't rush into making a decision on a fighter like Floyd.

Pacquiao called PBF's bluff and agreed to March 13, now floyd wants out by demanding 154lbs and 10 oz gloves.
