In a fight where he was a massive underdog, he managed to do anything from win to draw to lose by 1 round on a whole lot of scorecards. And he did it by "fighting to survive?" No. Some of you apparently still fail to realize that was his route to success despite him literally proving so.
Parker fought to win but he just couldnt figure out how to do it. The plan fell apart very quick when Joshua was faster than they thought and refused to play into Parkers hands in regards to the traps and stayed behind a jab much much more than they could of predicted.
parker is an offensive front foot fighter who likes to throw very fast combos in this fight v AJ he completely changed his style parker fought a good defensive fight on the backfoot / moved his head well / moved his feet and never got trapped on the ropes / but doing this he negated his offense joshua was able to read his right hand lead and either blocked it or moved back out of the way same with parker he took away joshuas straight right by moving backwards/moving his head and not being stationary / but IMO the key to parker winning this fight was to set a pace / match up in the middle ring with AJ and then come on strong when AJ tired in the second half. instead it was a fight when neither fighter were prepared to make a mistake count on 1 hand clean power punches either fighter managed to land. thus it was a fight of jabs/accuracy and ring control where parker would have had to grit his teeth / change it up and walk through AJ to get the win. he never did and joshua was content to play it safe as well made it a chess match / which suited the height/ range/size of AJ
I respect Parker's ability, but as for his effort, stock down! He knew he was losing, and didn't care enough to do what is needed to win. I have more respect for Price, at least he tried to win. As for Paker's power, he took his last three opponents the distance in wins, and whatever he landed didn't bother Joshua.
He maybe started the fight trying to win, but as the fight progressed he lacked the will to win. It was obvious he wouldn't steal the fight on points, beeing against AJ and the UK. He did put on a good effort though and stuck to his game plan, but he was content with that. He did nothing to try steal the show, he didn't put himself at risk at anytime. Not even in the late rounds when the only thing that could save him was the KO. Is this what you call sparring mentality?
Not sure how all these so called fans missed all these obvious huge moments in the battle. How do you think AJ not only got up but actually survived the entire fight? How chin and stamina proved far too weak to deal with this beast
The winner failed more than the loser, yup you ??? What do you believe was the most important goal entering the ring ? And what do you believe should had been the most important goal, and was there more than one goal?
He fought to win, but the referee was interfering with his work. Just because you're not going totally gung-ho throwing wild bombs doesn't mean you're there solely to survive.
Being great is winning without having to take great risk. AJ had to take great risk to get there W vs wlad, it was called for. No great fighter need to take risk for no reason, nor should they. Winning is the most important. The fans who claim coming back or avenging a loss is great are lacking common sense.
The referee was as much a hindrance to Parker as Femi. I don't see how you can say he fought to survive.
BS, there's no true fan that truly believes there could be any case made for thet being a draw, wtf were you watching ? And I don't understand how do many think that was a boring fight? They nullified each other, too many don't realize how hard it is to do that. This fight was very high level skillfully fought. How could it be possible for so many fans miss how much skill is needed for them to compete for 12 full round with both being just about in range the entire time. Both fighters proved they're both much better than people understand, especially Parker for being so tiny in there and staying competitive
