If so that is even more impressive, and, he would be the only one to have done it throwing out the Santos fights. Not trying to take away from Mosley's amazing performance, its just something I thought about.

Who knows. We'll never know unless Margarito says so.

My theory on this is that Margarito started to use loaded gloves for the Cintron fight. Look at Cintron's body and tell me how a body shot will knock him out. Margarito has had many fights where he could be an instant star if he won. All those fights he lost ie Daniel Santos and Paul Williams. He probably became desperate so he decided to give himself an edge so he can be a huge name in boxing with a lot of drawing power. If he used loaded gloves, than his plan worked, if only for a short time.

A hard, well placed shot to the body is knocking ANYONE out.

This was my thinking. After the Paul Williams loss, he knew it was now or never. He hadn't been able to secure any good fights and would have lost to Clottey if Clottey hadn't hurt his hand.

Also, I don't know why people always say "Margarito's always been such a classy guy, he'd never cheat..." Margo never struck me as classy. He cleary lost to Williams and wouldn't admit it after the fight. Shane Mosely lost a razor thin decision to Cotto (that myself and many thought should have been a draw or a win for Shane) and had nothing but nice words for him. That's classy.

If, and that's a big IF , Margarito has been using "loaded gloves" then maybe they were used against Williams.

Paul Williams got off to a wonderful start and most people had him 4-6 rounds up after 6. However after that Margarito dominated the fight and could have, I believe, got a draw if he had won the 12th.

Off course Williams might have simply tired or became complacent but if there were suspect gloves in use they would have become more effetctive as the fight went on.

Who knows? Such a strange situation and a shame.

A nicely timed, well placed body shot would take Cintron out. Nothing strange about that. :deal

I would think that Margs started using his loaded gloves in 2005 after his 2004 loss to Santos. Meaning, he beat down cintron twice with loaded gloves... Clottey broke his hand on the guard of the loaded gloves... Cotto took two knees after being worn down by the loaded gloves... PW gets the W after digging deep to the win after being beaten by the loaded gloves for 12 rounds.

For those who think that this was a one time occurance for margs, answer me this question: Why would you load your gloves against an aging, past prime, shot looking (against Mayorga) 37 yr old Shane Mosley? Was Margs worried enough about shane to load his gloves for the first time???

I have no doubt that Marg was probably using loaded gloves since his fight with Rodney Jones. If you look at his record before hand he was squeaking out UD, all of a sudden his faces tougher opposition and longer matches, after Jones, and he is knocking people out in 3 or 4 rounds? Where the hell did this power start coming from, especially against supposedly better opposition.

Exactly! I couldn't agree more. He started to load his gloves when he felt he couldn't compete with the top fighters in the sport. His wins after the Jones fight are suspect IMO.
