after those quotes attributed to him about the money on offer in super 6's i think he did unless offered 5m plus which is unrealistic.
I think Arum was unrealistic in expecting Abraham to have more fights in America and was just talking bull**** to avoid Pavlik fighting him. I don't think Pavlik personally was running scared of Abraham.
Abraham said he got tired of waiting around for Pavlik to accept is challenges, so he moved up to SMW. I've heard Abraham call out Pavlik, but I've never heard Pavlik call out Abraham.
On December 10th 2005 Abraham won the IBF title that Jermain vacated when he chose to rematch BHop rather than fight his mandatory. Abraham stopped Kingsley Ikeke in 5 rounds. Ikekse's best win was Echol's. To this very day Echols remains Ikeke's best win. March 4th, 2006 Abraham went the distance with Shannon Taylor who was coming off a TKO loss to Raymond Joval. May 13th 2006 Abraham went the distance with Kofi Jantuah who had previously been stopped by Kassim Ouma. September 23rd 2006 Abraham went the distance with Miranda in a very controversial fight. All I can say about this one is that if you haven't seen it, you need to. It's on You Tube. On May 26th 2007 Abraham stopped Sebastian Demers in 3 rounds. Demers had a 38% KO ratio, and his previous 5 opponents had 29 losses. On August 18th 2007 Arthur Abraham scored an 11th hour KO over Khoren Gevor. Gevor was little more than a prospect who had fought no one of note, and had a 48% KO ratio. On December 8th 2007 Abraham fought Wayne Elcock, and stopped him in the 5th round. Elcock had a 38% KO ratio, and his big claim to fame was beating the same version of Eastman that Duddy beat. On March 29th 2008 Abraham knocked out Elvin Ayala in the 11th round. Ayala had a KO ratio under 38%, and his most notable fight was a draw with Segio Mora. On june 21st 2008 Abraham picked up a catch weight rematch with Miranda after Kessler pulled out of the date with Showtime. Abraham deserves his props for this one. He KOed Miranda in the 4th, so it only took him 16 rounds to do what "that other guy" did in 7 rounds. On November 8th 2008 Abraham stopped Light Middleweight Raul Marquez in 6 rounds. Marquez squeaked past Lorenezo in an eliminator, and had a draw with McKart one fight earlier. On March 14th 2009 Abraham won a 12 round decision over LuJaun Simon. Simon had a 46% KO ratio, and his previous 5 opponents had 35 losses. On June 27th 2009 Abraham scored a 10th round TKO over Mahir Oral. Oral had a 34% KO ratio, and like Simon, his previous 5 opponents had 35 losses. Now come back here with a straight face and tell me Kelly Pavlik ducked this guyatsch - -
pavlik has said in post fight interviews that abraham is one of the top guys he should be facing... my only question is how can anyone think that a guy who fought miranda right after he broke abraham's jaw and fought a much bigger and more skilled bernard hopkins at 170 be DUCKING (as in afraid to fight) arthur abraham? it makes no sense to me whatsoever.
No he did not "DUCK" arthur, he was waiting until arthur "built his profile and name in the United States", meanwhile negotiating with Sturm while arthur was building his name!
you must just have this on a word doc ready for copying and pasting don't you? pretty good idea since it can be put to use so often on this board. must get pretty obnoxious though. i'm so tired of people talking about KP ducking AA. it makes no sense to me...
Pavlik stated dat he really wanted 2 fight Abraham in an interview during the promotion of the hopkins fight,he said he wanted either Abraham or Calzaghe...But Calzaghe waz running from him,so dat fight neva took place and Abraham had a mandatory....So no Pavlik is not running from Abraham
your theory fails to address the fact that as soon as Arthur started to become a big name in the states, he immediately moved up in spite of the fact that sauerland and Abraham both said he would not. At least Zuniga, miranda, and Taylor fought Pav before they left the division. Abraham left without a fight AFTER saying a date early next year would be fine.
exactly. the only problem is AA hasn't fought anyone in quite a while who would build his rep and his name in the US. if you want to get to the champ, you've gotta EARN it.
