Did Pernell Whitaker beat Oscar De La Hoya ???????

Six or half dozen, it doesn't matter. Oscar LOST and deserved the "L"...

 

Sweet Pea threw more, but Oscar landed more. I consider it Whitaker's last great performance I thought a draw might of been fair. That version might of beaten Tito. If not for the blow who knows how much better or longer Sweet Pea might of stuck around. Still, great performance for being past his prime and full blown crackhead made Oscar look bad, but didn't do enough to win.

 

Lol c'mon now even Tito knew he lost he was more shocked than anyone once the decision was announced. Tito won 3,4 rounds at the most.

......And as usual people forget that you score fights based on defense also. Where Whitaker always had an edge.
I still remember it as yesterday. Jim Lampley screaming. "OOH OSCAR FLURRIES AT THE END OF THE ROUND", missing every single punch.

Umm no. Barely landing combinations < defense

 

Oscar stunned Pernell twice, has his eye swollen shut. Just because he missed alot, doesn't mean he still landed more hard punches than Pernell did, which oscar did! That is why he deserved to win!

 

And just because Pernell was able to miss, doesn't take away from all the clean, hard punches oscar did land, not to mention stunning Pernell twice, once with an uppercut and once with a left hook. One of them buckled Pernell. Fact of the matter is pernell just didn't do enough to warrant a victory. Ducking and dancing doesn't earn you a win. It's about punching someone in the face hard, and oscar did more of that. Oscar won that fight, make no mistake butYou wanna saw a draw, fine, but no way in hell Pernell won that.

 

Oscar landed the cleaner, harder punches. Pernell won the best dancer award though and completely threw the last round away for his efforts.

Not close at all, people forget ODLH was the challenger, if the fight is close the champ wins. Jujst looking at the number50-48 its close, it should go to the champ,. but pea did win.

 

I bet half these fools haven't even see the fight and are hating on oscar. No way over 100 people here have seen the fight in full.

 

Take the blinders off. Niether fighter did much clean effective scoring.
The busier fighter who visibly is making a better effort to make the fight takes!

DLH won it. Competitive but not close on my card!

.......and I was rooting against DLH, those that know me here know I dont like DLH!

PEA is just one of those fighters that does just enough to lose against grade A fighters.
