Yeah, Peter won that title with his victory over James Toney. Peter has defended the title 3 times ( JT,JM,OM) and unified it with the WBC Title.

And he's a professional fighter. You can't expect these guys to come across as the sharpest tools in the shed. He said what he said after winning a world title; something he worked hard to achieve. People ought to give him a break.

 

Agreed. I never understand the hatred I see for Sam Peter. So he's not a Rhodes Scholar, so what? If he was, he probably wouldn't be boxing for a living. Personally, scholastic achievement and speaking skills aren't in my criteria for favorite fighter. Calvin Brock and Touch of Sleep Williamson both have college degrees. Guess what, it hasn't helped them in the ring.

 

i dont really hate the guy but its just fun to go back in forth and forth with the 5 notorious peter nuthuggers aka punisher, 40oz, swedeone, suge white, amb def :yep

he's the #2 guy right now. imo his performance against wlad is better than any win chagaev or valuev has. couple with the fact chagaev has been AWOL and i think he has the best case for #2. he's the only one who could give wlad a difficult fight. he has clearly improved technically. his jab to the body is very good and he has straightened his right hand. he has good killer instinct.

however, i think his lifesytle and poor work ethic will cost him big sooner rather than later. manny steward said he used to eat several candy bars before bedtime

I read that after he went home to Nigeria he beat up his brother in law or father inlaw and slapped his wife, I cant really remember the whole story but is was somthing like that.
