Did Peter ride the short bus?

Peter didn't take any shortcuts. His whole career is built around the one fight with Wladimir. What everyone forgets is that he was lucky not to get DQ'd in that fight for hitting Wlad on the back of the head. Yes, he has power. Yes he has a chin. But lets not kid ourselves about his boxing ability. He lost the first fight to Toney hands down. He won the second fight because he basically threw alot of punches with less power and kept his distance from Toney's short arms. He cannot beat Wladimir with that strategy, nor can he simply attack him and think he's going to ko him in the first three rounds. Peter is a very good top five fighter, but that's it.

 

Wlad held Peter 97 times in that fight, and he would grab Samuel everytime he landed anything significant, Peter being the fighter he was, pushed Wlad off of him and pounded him down to the canvas, anyone that watched George Foreman growing up knows he didnt have the best punching technique and was known to hit guys behind the head, just ask Joe Frazier, I never once seen the ref even think about stopping the fight because he hit someone behind the head, it's not his fault his oppenent cant take his punch, so they turn there back or put there head down to avoid the onslaught.

I'm saying Peter's anything special, but the guy at least tries to get his oppenent out of there in the ring and generally doesnt **** around when he got his man hurt, the guy is better than most heavyweights behind the mic and always has that heavy punch that could end a fight at the drop of a dime, thats why I like him.

He's a crude slugger with very limited skills. Yes he's strong, yes he knocked out many bums, but I prefer skilled fighters.

 

Excellent post, 40 Ounce, but it will do no good. Some of these guys just hate Peter and I don't think anything he does is going to change that. I can't figure it.

I see the haters are still hating, I guess Peter has become very popular on these boards. Peter will continue to keep winning, I cant wait to see everyones reaction when Peter knocks Wlads tougher brother Vitali the **** out by 6 or 7th round, Peter is going to pull a Travis Wlaker on him.

Peter isn't a joke titleholder, but he's any better than the over-the-hill Kazahkstani he KOed to become one. Wlad will do away with him in time...HIGH FIVE!!!
