To be fair to Peterson at times it looks as if he's knocked off balance easily rather than actually having a poor chin. I thought it was quite clear that Peterson didnt know quite how to deal with Matthysse and was stuck between trading and trying to stay away.
Matthysse absolutely smashed him with the 2nd KD... But having said that all these guys who are boiling down to 140 so they can bully smaller guys deserve it when they can't take a punch. Garcia, seems to have a decent chin, but seems to gas late especially if he's not putting away guys early. Both him and matthysse go to the body, so it will be interesting to see that fight
Ya i dont get it either . How did Mattyse not put away Judah and Alexander? I've never seen Peterson easily dropped like that either , does Lucas really hit that hard or is Peterson chinier then I thought?
He looked unsteady and seemed to lack confidence from the very beginning. And, honestly, his body didn't even look the same.
Lucas is getting better. People keep bringing up those 2 names where one was 3 years ago, and the other was 2 years ago. They need to give it a rest of what happen 3 years ago and pay attention to the guy that has KO'd his last 6 guys
He got hit with some hellacious shots before the first KD. Matthysse just hits like a truck. He's not flashy and he has built in leverage, so even when it doesn't seem like it's a hard punch, it still is.
I think Peterson could have continued... the round was near the end and he got up rather quickly after the third knockdown... which was a glancing blow. I only say this because he did get up normally.. and the round was near ending. It's sort of unfortunate. But well at least he keeps his belt.
i thought peterson didn't look right too or his old self in the ring during introduction just before the fight. lamont's face looked tired. maybe he was drained, or scared or just having a normal testosterone level.? denitely, that wasn't the peterson i've seen in the past.
