Stiverne and Povetkin are both making a lil over a mil. It's a 50/50 fight. This fight did not need a purse bid. Oh wait, yes they did. They had to decide whether the winner gets and extra $314 grand ffs.

Povetkin doesn't want to leave home. The furthest he's traveled is to Finland I believe!!!??? Ryabinsky and PEDHEADvetkin are the purse bid kings. ****en Road Block brain always wants to fight at home.

Purse bids are good for boxing, but when you see Ryabinsky win a purse bid and both fighters are getting close to the same thing, why a purse bid? I know the answer, but why?

They don't think they can knock out Stiverne so they need to make sure they have a favorable decision. Part of the boxing game. It's going to be difficult for Stiverne to win a decision which is why he has to be in his best shape or he'll just get out worked in the judges eyes.

You think there s something shady going on, maybe regarding Povetkin new super condition after the Wlad matchup? Could be this, could be that they dont wanna risk absolutely anything before the Wilder fight

I dont think that Povetkin needs the judges to win, like Blackclouds is saying, Stiverne isnt a volume puncher and his power will only be his only hope anyway

but, you can never know about that " meldoniun" bro haha

Then again, you can suspect any promoter that goes to purse bid

Stiverne would be lucky to make it as Povetkin's sparring partner.

You see Povetkin will treat this fight....Wilders only victory over a top 10 fighter.....as a workout.

    Easy Russian currency.

Wlad beat Povetkin in Russia. Just sayin'.

Stiverne is ... or could be ... an excellent fighter. But he didn't look great against Wilder and if he comes in the same against Povetkin, he's going to be KO'd. No scorecards needed. I hope for Bermane's sake that he's taking this seriously.

Stiverne should be happy, guess drawing with Dereck Rossy and sitting on his ass for a year got him another title shot and 1.6 $ mil.

Nothing shady. He needs a big crowd to push him. He isn't a guy who will fight you in your back yard. That's what many say about Ward. Now people are mentioning that Povetkin brings this big crowd and are comparing this to Ward-yet Stiverne is getting the same amount basically. Ward has more respect than Povetkin tenfold in boxing.

I couldn't give a **** about Povetkin. I thought i'd make that clear for anyone who didn't know.

Ward isn't as popular in his home country though. Sure, he's had 10x the career Povetkin has but he's not a draw and in this BS age of ' Well he's the A-side so he can *insert example of unreasonable demand*' that apparently means something to fans.

I quoted Rapidu. This isn't about popularity. The fighters agreed to come fight Ward here in America so it's a moot point. Now granted it was a tournament, but there was no disagreement over money. Povetkin wanted to fight Wilder in America and he said this in his own words, but Ryabinsky didn't. I go to Boxrec and while Boxrec isn't always right...I'm pretty sure that Headvetkin hasn't really fought anyone of note away from home.

Lol Wilder fanboys rambling over nothing per usual. Purse bids are part of the sport you spastics, get over it. You'll never complain when it's someone you support like Wilder or Ward fighting at home. Wonder why?

If I won the purse bid I'd want it in the country that I thought my guy had the most chance of winning in. If you add in that that country would also generate the most cash then it becomes a total no brainer.

Ward wasn't willing to go abroad to fight in the S6. He was the ONLY fighter who didn't.

Now I think Ward is a supreme talent and doesn't get enough credit in many respects but for people who defend his choice to stay at home when loads more money could have been generated by dusting off his passport to criticise others for seeking home advantage is a bit much. The ways most posters flip flop on their positions depending who the fighter on these boards really is something else.
