You have thrown out enough ?'s to say he wasnt just cus you didnt use those words doesnt mean thats not what your saying.

You seem to keep saying **** like, But Paul was flat that night, But something was off, well Paul this.
What about saying Carlos beat the **** out of the man and won, Paul got him in the rematch cus that is what really happend.

Unless your going to say Carlos used loaded gloves:think

I think Quintana set a blueprint of how to beat Williams at that time, but Williams has improved from what I've seen so I think you'd have to bring a little more to the table than what Quintana brought to beat him these days.

I dont see how you can really say Williams has improved, he starched Quintana in the rematch sure, but has fought much lesser names since then, he hasnt been in there with someone that will have a winnable game plan yet, so until we see that happen I would say its the same old paul.

By the way, I don't like the implication that Williams had an off night... I think that unfairly waters down what Quintana accomplished that night. Williams seemed fully prepared for that fight and Carlos beat him fair and square when Paul was at his best. No excuses here, the guy got beat, period.

IDK if he has improved, but he's looked better, mainly due to his weak comp. He beat the 114th best MW in the world, and then he beat Verno, a guy that was nowhere near his size and has never been that special. Only thing that looks as if it has been an improvement is his power, but like I said, even Zab could've KO'd Kolle. & yes he made a Verno quit, but it was only obvious that he would eventually quit if he didnt wanna take a beating for the rest of the fight. Only thing Paul is doing differently is sitting on his punches more, but its easy to do that when the opponents you're facing pose no threat what so ever.

Verno Phillips has been a top 154 pound contender/title holder for a long time now and from what I saw in that fight, Williams' defense has improved as he made Phillips miss a lot of those wild haymakers he was throwing, and Paul also showed something in that fight he hasn't shown before, good body punching. Add all that along with the fact that he's sitting down on his punches more and I think you have a clear indication of an improving fighter.

I don't see how that's hard for you to believe because the guy is still young and you should expect improvement from a young and talented fighter like Williams.

Even though he's been one of the top 154 fighters for a while, he still wasn't on Williams' level.

Phillips missed those wild hayemakers yes, but look at all those over rights Phillips landed, thats sad. Imagine what a prime counter punching master like Winky would do to PW.

Once again, its easy to look good against someone who poses no threat to you.

Exactly Phillips was catching Williams with right hands almost at will if you would, no way do I see any improvement in his D, I do agree he is sitting down on his shots more though, but that is easy to do when you do not have to worry about the incomming.

The poll tells the story. It's a bit of both more than likely.

The poll doesnt tell the story, the fight does, the poll is just a matter of opinion.

Exactly, when your opponent poses no threat at all, of course you're gonna take that time to shine. I remember during the fight, a poster even made a thread complaining that PW would get f_cked up by a good defensive fighter because his defense is weak. Fighting limited offensive guys is no way to prove your defense is good. Yes, he has a good chin, but chin isn't defense. All I know is that I seen the fight and Verno was landing that over hand right alot.
