I don't agree with that. Bashing on a good fighter like Phillips isn't proving your point any to me. Yeah he's getting a little long in the tooth, but he's been and elder fighter for some time now and still managed to beat many top contenders and hold a title, and could probably still beat a few contenders even now... so I s w him as a prety worthy opponent. Clearly the underdog, but not by much.

That being said, I did see Verno landing with rights early, but as the fight went on Williamns had the timing down and was leanig back away from a lot of those big swings... and Williams was the kind of guy that got insulted that you missed, so even a slight imrpovement in defense like that is still an improvement.. and as I stated before, he illustrated a good body attack in that fight which is another clear sign that the kid is learning new things in the gym. So say what you will, but the guy is improving with experience.

    Hey Mr. Cotto fan?

The subject was on Quintana...and you run a litany of Cotto weaknesses and try to make a case as to why Cotto will lose again....
Without giving him the benefit of the doubt that he can make some corrections and adjustments.

Boy I can tell you are a REAL Cotto fan???????

Verno wasn't an underdog by much? :rofl
Man, only did you see the odds on that fight? I know ESB polls doesn't really count, but did you see the number of votes PW had compared to Verno? The odds for this fight couldn't compare to the odds for fights like Hopkins vs Pav, DLH vs Pac, Wlad vs Rhaman or JT vs Lacy, Verno was a huge underdog in this fight bro. Thats the most under I've ever seen someone under.

Yes, Verno has always been a good fighter, but dude has never been that special, NEVER. & on top of that, he is 39.

During like the first 4 rounds, when Verno was still feeling good about himself, he was landing that over hand right alot. He was landing some good counters on PW. In the last 4 rounds is when he started throwing hayemakers. Its easier to avoid a hayemaker.

Once again, of couse PW's body attack is gonna look good against Verno, a guy who poses no threat to him. PW looked like a MW version of Mike Tyson vs Kolle, and you know why, thats because he was fighting Kolle.

I think Quintana simply exposed some of his weaknesses.

If they fought again....I believe Quintana would win....he would
fight him the similar form as in the first fight and that will work for
    him...because he has great timing.

Polls don't always tell the story. This poll does tells a story - but then most close to 50-50 polls generally do. Williams didn't look his best. The things Quintana did exposed certain flaws. BOTH. The fight confirms opinion.

I think it's a little of both. Williams fought better the second time around while Quintana started out over confident in my eyes. I would personally like to see a third match so I can have a better opinion on what Quintana is really capable of.
