Did Quintana win the 'Avoided Championship' as well?

So guys, we have a new champion!

There are a lot of threads around here regarding the 'Williams hype' 'the upset' the praise of the new champ or the trashing of the former champ, but this is something different.

    My question is:

Do you think that defeating an avoided champ like Williams (who defeated the avoided Margarito) means that Quintana did not only win the WBO WW title but the -let's say- 'avoided title' or the 'curse' as well?

Or is this 'avoided' thing is all BS?

    What do you think?

quintant is a really good fighter. i did predict him winning this bout. but all this has done is make cotto look like the man as he already beat quintana in the 5th. now we have the 2 untouchables. cotto and mayweather

No it just proved that neither williams or margo for that matter are on cotto and floyds level. Thats the fight that needs to happen at some point, the others are good names for your resume but not a defining name therefore it aint neccesary to be fighting them. Fighting cotto is

I think it's BS. A guy get's one big win and all of the sudden all of the superstars should be lining up to fight him? Please.
How about sticking around for a while and firmly establishing yourself as an elite-fighter by beating all the guys slightly below that level, like for instance Miguel Cotto did?
As for Quintana, he might have an interesting all Puerto Rican showdown waiting for him after Cintron loses to Margo again, and if not, stay busy, keep proving yourself and the fights will come.

.. the only logical thing at the moment and has to be done! It's so obvious! Cotto has beaten Zab Judah, Carlos Quintana (Who now beat Paul Williams, Who beat Antonio Margarito) and Shane Mosley. This only leaves him in the mix.

I bet Arum is gunning for a Cotto-Margarito match, their both fighting in the same date on April 12. If Margarito takes care of his business he will fight Cotto, and Cotto should be able to beat Gomez. I know Margarito was suppose to fight Cotto last year, but he lost to Williams, so I'm assuming he will have that chance again. I doubt Cotto will be able to fight Floyd this year since he's fighting ODLH again, so the logical choice would be Margarito. Oh and Cotto already beat Quintana so I don't see a rematch between the two.
