It was a close win for Lewis - probably 6 rounds to 4. Actually, this fight shat all over the opinion that Lewis had no heart and wouldn't be able to tough it out. I would struggle to score this for Mercer, he was very good in patches and won his rounds, but, over the distance, Lewis did the better work and deserved to win.
because you judge a fighter on his whole career not just one fight. And many don't know but the ring was smaller than normal for the fight which may have forced Lewis into that type of fight. That said, Mercer performed well and it was a close fight. But obviously your analytic skills are lacking if you think any one or even two fights define a whole career. A career is a body of work not a single incident or two.
