Sure Filipinos beat Mexicans 5-1, but almost nobody talk about other fight than De Leon -Bautista.
Filipinos lost the most important star in the cup in the very brutal way.
The hype and illusion of giving the another boxer of PAC caliber is gone.
Ponce De Leon is the new risig star in this game and this is the most important outcome from this Cup.

Its there, and it came, Boom2x lost to PDL. Good thing Gerry got the other one, for if not, could have been a different story, and I'm glad you know what 5-1 means.:yep

Yeah 5-1 and you're still asking if they did win the world cup? :think

The world Cup is not just about Ponce De Leon and Bautista . . . it's part of the six fights that composed the line up . . . and so what if De Leon is the new rising star of the game? Did that win erased the 5 victories of the Filipinos?

:rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl

Shut the **** up . . . you stinks! :hi:

5 wins are not erased but they are much less imporatnt.
What is imporatnt is who may be the next champion not who is the next gatekeeper material.

Less important? Do you intend to just highlight on Ponce? Then you're not talking about the world cup . . . stinky :yep :rofl change your title. Change it to Ponce vs Boom Boom.

You really think that Mayweather-PBF was the most important fight in boxing history?

It was sure the "world cup" but there was only two tiles on the line.
Sure Filipinos won two eliminators and in the title fight it was 1:1
but the imporatant thing is De Leon is the true winner by beating
Filipinos best prospect in one impressive round.

So Filipionos won one title and lost his best prospect.
All other wins are more or less unimportant.

From a technical standpoint, the Phillipines beat Mexico... but if we're talking about the bigger picture of a comparison of the fighters of the two nations, if Barrera defeats Pacquiao, I'd much rather have Mexico's 2 wins than the Phillipines' 5.

In reality it was no more of a World Cup than The Contender: UK v USA but it's just a cool principle to promote a fight card on .

The actual winning of the tournament doesn't mean very much , but I suppose it brings pride to the fighters and probably to some of the fans in attendance too .

To me it might seem nothing but then again I wasn't from one of the countries involved and I'm sure Filipinos will be happy having won the 'World Cup' .
