Does anyone think that Ricky Hatton avoided certain fighters or was guided away by his management?
He had over 40 fights before facing Kostya tszyu.
Ricky wins the British title a belt he always wanted to win, yet gives the belt up for the WBU title rather than defend the British against Jnr Witter. He then defends this title against alot of fighters rated lower than Witter, always giving reasons why that bout wont happen. He was WBO no.1 contender when Corley was the belt holder, but never seemed to push for that match either.
I think the Collazo match happend cause Collazo had already been KO'd and wasnt thought of as a puncher & think the Maywheather and Pac matches only happend cause Hatton thought he would be the naturally bigger stronger man in the ring against guys that had started at lower weights.
Due to styles making fights I always felt he didnt want to go near Judah, Corley or Witter.
I was never convinced about Kostya Tsyzu in the later stages of his career, and notice its Hatton who keeps calling him the great Kostya Tsyzu.
A good fighter but I think well guided also

A very deluded post if i ever read one.

Im not even bothering to post a responce to it.

But i will leave you with these facts:-

    1) Hatton left warren because he was not getting the big names he craved

2)Tszyu blasted Zab in 2 rounds, Zab embarrassed witter.

    3) Hatton hated witter for his post thaxton rant.

    4) LAzcano broke his finger thus collazo stepped in with 4 weeks to go, ricky jumped up a weight to fight him.

"It only happened because hatton thought he would be bigger and stroner that pacman... " - errr Pac had just knocked out Oscar at 147 you clown.

    1) Hatton was with Warren for 40 odd bouts which is alot for someone hanging around not getting the names they want.
    2) Tsyzu blasted Zab with a good shot, but still dont think Hatton wanted any part of him in his career then. Judah would have been a better opponent then any of his other matches besides Maywheather and Pac.
    3) If Hatton hated Witter why not want to settle the score. Fans in the U.K. did want to see it happen.
4)Collazo wasnt thought to be a puncher and had been KO'd which is why I think he was comfy to go up in weight for that particular bout.

i am a big hatton fan and I would have loved him to shut that ***** witter up. But I guess it was boxing politics what got in the way.

Its a fight that alot of us would have wanted to see. I think Hatton could have won it on aggression and workrate, but I dont think Ricky wanted it or thought the risks were to great, I mean what politics were there when Hatton was British champ and Witter the no.1 contender? Or even a unification when they were both champs.

Witter was a high risk low reward fight for Hatton so it's not surprising that he avoided him.

Hatton is a Glass Jawed joke but he did not avoid anyone. He needs to retire he can't take a punch.

every fighter in the world "avoided" someone....in someone's eyes....people have said pac avoided the best at 135-140 after hatton, PBF avoided ww's...it goes on and on ...u can only fight so many guys then the rest whom u choose not to fight will be considered ducks on ESB

He wasn't a glass jaw joke, yes pac sparked him out cold. But his punch resistance had gone. Apart from pac he as took bombs from koysta, and other big fighters such as floyd who took ten rounds.

Granted, and more than deserves every penny he earns, but when De La Hoya was interested in meeting Hatton he never seemed to keen, & id imagine theres more money in that bout.

Hatton avoided Floyd at 140, Floyd wanted the fight but Hatton wanted no part of Floyd at that time(after he beat KT). He also avoided Witter.
