Walters power ruined Donaire and weight class is too much for Donaire. He needs a midget for a dance partner.

  2. He needs to go back and fight old Mexican fighters.

If he fights any top black fighters even at 122, he will lose.

    IMO, he should retire.

I think so. Mentally Nonito was a deferent fighter and he seemed to lose his legs. The reflexes seemed to have diminished as well as he moved up in age and weight.

His technique and in-ring skill was on the slide before Rigo, but Rigo's the one who really shined the flashlight on it.

In the Rigo fight, for the first time, Donaire's power and superior physical traits couldn't bail him out. It was Roy Jones-esque in a sense. It's not that Donaire didn't have skill, but his ability to actually box to win got rusty because he never had to. Against a technical master like Rigo, that was a disaster, and he was only left looking for a knockout. He knocked him down, but Rigo survived.

Then, when he moved up, the physical advantages were gone, and it was too late to develop the technical mastery he neglected.

Retirement is the best bet for him now. He accomplished a hell of a lot in the sport, but mentally, he's at peace with his career and he won't enjoy those physical advantages anymore. There's nothing to be ashamed of, but he really ought to walk away for his family before he becomes another former great fighter absorbing beatings for a living.

Donaire was always a little over rated. At the really light weights, the overall level of athleticism and talent is thinner. Donaire was the cream of the crop. He was athletically gifted, and at 5'6. He was usually the bigger man from 112- 122. When he wasn't the bigger man the opponents lacked the skill and talent for it to make a difference. He was getting by on his athleticism and talent, beating up on midgets and overmatched opponents. When he was matched with an A level midget, he got spanked. When he was matched with a B level guy a little bigger than himself he folded again. People hyped Donaire up, to an extent that they also overhyped his opposition. Montiel, wouldn't have beaten anyone in the bantam tourney. Arce, Sydorenko, Nishioka were all washed up. Mathebula, and Vasquez jr aren't good. Donaire was being protected. While at 118, and 122 he didn't fight the best available opposition until he fought Rigondeaux. At 126, he fought a tuneup against Darchinyan and was losing. He had a decent showing against Vetyeka, athough they seemed in a hurry to have the fight stopped so Donaire wouldn't get pounded later in the fight. And then Donaire gets pounded by Walters, due to having no boxing ability, or defense and a low ring IQ. That isn't pound for pound anything. Donaire exposed himself.

Not at all. Nonito had an all out killer instincts against Walters last nigiht. Walters just took him deep and sunk him.

Donaire will always have a problem with a top tier black fighter. He needs to stay away from them or the losses will pile up.

Donaire can drop back down. I would still favor him over Eurobums like Frampton, and Quigg, as well as mini Margarito. He should just stay away from Rigondeaux.

He fell in love with his power and abandoned his boxing skills plain and simple.

Young nonito used to use his jab beautifully.

Yeah basically, so his overzealous fan base can get excited and proclaim him pound for pound again. The only black guy he has to avoid is Rigondeaux. Not sure Donaire would have a problem with Agbeko.

MVC trying to spin this into a win for the slicksters.

The axeman is a clean-living come forward boxer from Jamaica, not one of these running, ducking haymon swagfags

  14. Agbeko probably beats him, but Donaire gets the decision.
