Did RJ's still blazing hand speed conceal the fact that he's shot everywhere else?

Anytime ESB members talked about the chances of RJ against Calzaghe, they talked about his blazing hand speed and ability to still throw blinding combinations with power behind them.

Question is, did this conceal the fact that he was completely shot everywhere else? For example, reflexes, legs, stamina, confidence, etc. All of those seemed to be completely gone against Calzgahe.

Jones threw some weird shots. Most of all, he threw alot of meaningless punches that didn't have any true emphasis behind them. He could flash his hands out pretty quick, but 90% of it was going absolutely nowhere.

What i also wanted to mention was the possibility that even though RJ might've seen the openings, his reflexes were shot enough where he wasn't able to pull the trigger.

Also, i seldom saw RJ throw his famous upper/hook combination on the inside that worked so beautifully in his prime. I think i saw him do it a few times and it worked. But i think this just goes back to the fact that he can only fight in very small spurts. So pretty much the shot reflexes, legs, and stamina all contributed to him fighting the way he did.

that was actually that combo that gave him the first and only KD in the fight...

i think he also lost confidence in his punches...once he saw that his favorite combo didn't really buzz Calzaghe the way he hoped it would he totally went gunshy...then the ****in cut...after the cut...that was it...he was catchin flies...

    sad **** to watch...:verysad

Yeah. Guys can still have fast hands, but have deteroriated substantially in other areas. Meldrick Taylor still had fast hands in 1992, hell he still had them in 1994, but he had badly declined. Same with Terry Norris in the late 90s. Fast hands, but declined a lot in other areas.

As much as he's declined, Jones actually looked a little better than I had expected against Calzaghe.

his fast hands really didnt hide anything, take away the 1 round kd, and what do you have left, absolutely nothing.. we saw roy being beaten round after round, by a guy who taunted him, stood infront of him with hands down, and his head up in the air, INVITING roy to hit him, and what did roy do.. COVER UP.. thats not faded, thats not decline, thats the essence of a shot roy.. no doubt about it..

if people cant se straight, and realise that jones in every other department, then perhaps his handspeed(which also has declined), is NOTHING like he used to be, they must be biased as hell or have **** for brains:D ..
