This was shortly after Pac jumped to welterweight. He was even smaller back then and no one was thinking of putting him in with a huge welter like Mosley.

Yes. Roach felt Mosley was too dangerous for Pacquiao. I think he had a point.

 

He said it, but I did not take him literally. I think they were going with Cotto already when Mosley came in with the "I'll fight you @ 140." I also remember Roach said Manny would never fight Margarito, and now talks are on. Early on with their welterweight run Roach was very protective of who he'd fight and did not seem to hide it.................I take what Roach said as seriously as Floyd Sr's. recent comments where he sounds like regardless of testing protocal he does'nt want Floyd facing Pac.
