I made a thread on this forum about 2 weeks ago asking people what Roach's gonna do if Chavez Jr. gets his ass kicked. Most people choosed the third option "He will ask himself what the hell is happening?" Now, Chavez Jr. has got his ass kicked already and it seemed to me that Roach didn't know how to help his fighter to beat his opponent. So, what's Roach is gonna do if Pacquiao gets his ass kicked in this coming December? Ps. it's gonna be 4 defeats in a row for his fighters in 2012.
did you hear roach during and after the fight? its kinda hard to move to plans B and C when your fighter isnt even trying to implement plan A. its not roach's fault. he was pleading with the kid to step it up and even threatened to stop the fight. and what's plan B and C anyhow? having chavez turn slick and box circles around sergio?
Plan B is to stop waiting to land punches. Plan C is to cut the ring like his father did. Something like that. I don't know I'm not the trainer.
Roach isn't to blame if a ganja-smoking, unmotivated pretty boy who doesn't even turn up to his gym practices loses a fight. Chavez Jr is a freaking dumbass, and it's not Roach's job to help him in that respect, or Roach's fault when Chavez' idiocy sees him losing the most important fight of his career.
He executed the plan perfectly. It was an 8 part plan for victory. Part 1- Don't apply any pressure or throw any punches. Get punched in the face and body repeatedly. Part 2- Apply pressure by marching forward, but still don't throw any punches. Wouldn't wanna work hard and get tired, not after that training camp. Continue getting pummeled. Part 3- When Sergio gets bored and finally decides to stand still and fight on the inside, lose every exchange badly. This will get his confidence up, you almost have him where you want him. Part 5- Ignore and back talk anyone who doesn't realize this awesome plan is working. Part 6- Desperately go for broke in the last round. What the hell, only one to go, and that idiot's been working all night. Part 7- If you get a knockdown, and he survives, try to finish him. Part 8- Finally, if he gets up and lands more punches than you are after he did all the work all night, be gracious and maybe he'll give you a drink of his water bottle.
Im not a big fan of Roach but didnt Chavez realise plan A wasn't working or have a plan B himself? I mean he is the one getting punched in the face not Roach!
one of the reporters said that he was in the gym more than Chavez Jr. at Wild Card.. The plan all along was to make 158 and take the f'n money..
