If the internet was around then, there would be countless threads about Marciano being "schooled" by Walcott and how he landed a "lucky punch".
Not counting fixed fights, no boxer ever walked into the ring and wanted to lose. Never. He cared enough to cancel his coming out of retirement to face Ingemar after he had won the title from Patterson. Marciano cancelled the agreement to fight after a couple weeks of training.
Not as much for sure the zero wasn't a marketing tool with Marciano he didn't need it because, unlike Floyd's negative boring ass, Rocky's fights were actually entertaining to watch
I tell you what, Rocky nearly lost a couple of times, he nearly lost to Walcott and Ezard charlies. In Both fights, he was getting outboxed and then came with the one punch that ended it. It's the reason in my opinion that he wouldn't of stood a chance against a prime Ali. Ali would of completely destroyed him. Holmes would of done him aswell. Quite a few heavyweights would of done well against Marciano where he wouldn't of got so lucky with a one punch knockout. What I do love about Marciano is his never die attitude, but tecnically he just wasn't good enough to of stood a chance against Ali.
