No way.. That fight exposed him... Been telliing people for too long that anyone with a good chin, solid punch that isnt old is gonna take Lopez into deep waters and expose him. Luevano would have done it had he had power, but he just couldnt get Lopez respect. Penalosa too old. MTwaga not good enough. I saw this Salido upset coming but everyone here didnt want to listen.. Now your trying to make excuses up like Mtwaga runined him? LOL..... Lopez has always been just a big puncher with average skills... Never the pfp monster he was made out to be.

It's more and more evident it took a good few years and a step out of Lopez' career. He should've blown away shot Marquez (I pray Arum won't put Rafa in with Gamboa just so everybody could see exactly how much Marquez has left) and Salido almost immediately started to land the right hand, and his dominance only grew. Once he secured the knockdown it was obvious Lopez is going to be stopped, he just doesn't recover and unfortunately took another dose of carrer-changing shots. Maybe the Mtagwa fight should've been stopped around the 11th and this one a little earlier, the brave warrior in JuanMa prolonged the beating and shortened his career.

He's not ruined, you fickle ****s. He is 30 wins 1 loss and his loss came in a war of a fight where he went out on his shield. How is that ruined? Please explain to me. He has a lot left to give.

He is ruined because he has been fighting like that over 2 years now (Lontchi) and his abilities seem to have declined sharply. He has taken an amazing amount of physical damage in these two years, the man can't obviously be the same.

Let me repeat Lopez is not Ruined.. He just is not as good as all of you thought!!!!! He is still a dangerous top fw and will continue to ko other contenders.. He might even have some big wins. He has always been a big puncher with decent skills, but also flaws.

A bunch of pansies I see here often. If there were forums in the older times(such as 40s or 60s) many posters would say that the previously undefeated guys still have a chance to come back and/or just weren't matched up right. In modern times you get "he was exposed" or "he wasn't that good anyways" everytime a decent undefeated fighter has major troubles then loses. Lopez is still a big threat but is just a limited fighter. He can improve on his defense but he is so accustomed to slugging/not fighting smart to recover that it may be the end of him. He has a chance to come back but I do wish the best to him.

I agree i was about to say the same thing.. Most of the greats from the past had a number of losses before even winning a title... Can you imagine after Schmeling beat Louis if there were forums and the net people would be saying.. LOuis is a chinna chinned bum and will never be great.:nut Then again i think fans back then new better as it was very common for great fighters to have a number of losses before reaching the top... Now days fighters usually are not matched tough until after title fights..... Look Salido is a prime example... A guy with 11 losses but matched tough early on for being a young inexperienced teenager.. And even his losses at the championship level were only to elite fighters(Marquez,Gamboa) or other champs. He might have been 34-11 but all that tough comp served him well, better than Lopez glossy record.

Great post and I agree. I'd take a 34-5 guy over the 48-0 guy if the 34-5 guy tested himself against the best he could unlike the undefeated guy. It's about resume and Salido was no pushover. I knew he was a tough fighter and one that was good enough to beat Lopez. Lopez can recuperate from the loss but fighting Salido AGAIN back to back is not good for his career. I give him props but if Lopez had that same stoppage against someone else I'm sure he would NOT give a rematch which I have a problem with.

he said that cotto's win over mayorga was an isnpiration, saying that he will learn to be smart and pacient like miguel. yeah right, he just can't help it

divorce, weight issues are factors but the main factor is that shitty defence, falling in love with his power and not believing in the word ( tie up)
