    Thanks again
Do you know what Benn had to say about why their fight fell through?

sorry if this is a dumb question but if he was already guaranteed that 5M what difference would it make who he fought?like you said he wasn't a draw so he couldn't have expected any more money.

or is it because hbo had already paid him so much they couldn't afford the big name opponents?

What I think he means is why fight dangerous opponents when you can fight cans instead for the same money. Guys like Brannon, Lucaz and Vinny Paz instead of guys like Nunn and Benn

He avoided Nunn, probably Liles. Tall southpaws....

He refused Eubank when Eubank came back. Nothing in the fight.

You can be paid $5 mill to fight a nobody like rick frazier or a few mill more to fight a genuine threat. What would you do? And when you're getting $5 mill to fight a nobody then your expections purse wise against the likes of Benn are going to be unrealistic. Jones took the path of least resistance because HBO made it so easy for him too.

I always found the Nunn situation as weird. Nunn becomes WBC mandatory Jones vacates title saying he is going to fight Buster Douglas. Nunn loses to Rochiggiani for WBC title. Jones steals back WBC title because his dad who he had a very bad relationship with says he shouldn't fight Douglas.

The Tarver one is strange as well. Tarver's his mandatory, Jones has his promoter Murad Muhammad write a letter to the IBF, questioning Tarver's credentials and demanding that Tarver must fight Harding in an elimination contest.

Interestingly he didn't demand that Woods, Frazier or Hall do the same thing when they were his mandatories

That is interesting, however, all Tarver had to do was beat Harding! It would be different if he BEAT harding! But harding beat him and broke his jaw.

Liles dropped him heavily in '88. I know that.

    Beat him, too.
