Nah it had everything to do with fighting off duty cops and firefighters at the peak of his career!

DM should have to take 50% of the blame for that mess

They both were to blame for that fight not happening. No way in hell was Jones going to go to Germany man... and DM doesn't leave Germany. US, especially at that time, was the place to fight. Jones would've made him a lot of money, probably the most he had ever made before. And the popularity he would've got if he defeated him, would've been unreal especially at that time when he was in his prime.

He only fight one cop man. stop being stupid. Many of the guys he fought, so did DM. But Jones beat them far more impressively.

I didnt claim DM's star shined brighter than Roy's but i am claiming that he was the man while Roy collected his stolen belts in vacant title fights.:dealSomething no man can dispute!

When he was pound for pound and light heavyweight king bemoaning the lack of worlds left for him to conquer I thought Juan Carlos Gomez, who was an excellent cruiserweight champion at the time, would have made a great challenge for RJJ. Of course, RJJ kind of treated JC like he was nothing more than an unsubstantiated myth.

If you think he ''ducked'' Vassily Jirov, I think your opinion on him is clearly too biased and irrational to be taken under consideration.

Very few fighters from America, unless they are desperate are going to go to Germany for a fight. Especially not big name, super stars like Jones in his prime. Sure Jones will go anywhere now, because he is desperate. But in his prime, he is the best in his mind and the money and worldwide fame can be had in America, especially during that time. When A fighter makes it in the US they reach the heights. That's just how it is, not sure why, but it's just how it is.

Well, the notion that RJ's avoided big punchers is completely bullsh*t because he moved up to HW to fight a guy 30 lbs heavier than him. Anyone worried about having a weak chin would not have taken that risk.

Jones had hbo obligations, but most of all mandatories for many belts limiting is choices for many years. Look at the number of champs or guys who later on became champs that he fought, its impressive. He ducked nobody. I still dont know who Michalczewski is and i dont care, Benn was some kid of dude we heard was popular sometimes ago. Stop with that ****. Look at is fights, he had amazing athletics abilities, rings awarness and gave us lots of fun.

Jones ran from Michalczewski for years.

Jones refused Hopkins in rematch for years also.
