Jones Jr was the far more exciting boxer and showman in the ring. If anyone was boring, it was Hopkins, who needed 5 minutes on 3 different occasions, all on borderline punches that could have been knockdowns. Hopkins headbutted Roy twice, and had a very bad low blow.

Are you saying that Hopkins is more entertaining than Roy Jones? You can't be serious.

Hopkins clinched the whole fight. Jones couldnt pull the trigger. Hopkins diving around the ring. Jones fight 1 min of every round pathetic

He fought 3 minutes of every round. Both guys were moving, blocking a lot, and trying to set up punches. It was a back and forth fight. Hopkins won most of the early rounds, but Roy won most of the last 8 rounds.

At ESB everyone is so interested in analyzing fights. But yet we never hear this one talked about. That was one of the more dramatic fights I've seen. I think people are still in denial about what really happened in this fight.

Hopkins did clinch the entire fight. Jones couldn't knock him out but he definely did a lot of clean punching and hurt Hopkins. The only time Hopkins hurt Jones was with intentional headbutts.

This fight let me know why Hopkins wouldn't take the 60-40 in 02..

Roy had his number. He had a mental edge on Hopkins, even as shot as he was.

it was also a weight issue.

roy would not come down from 175 and hopkins was still a 160.

No. There was no weight issue. You are trying to make it like Canelo vs Mayweather. Hopkins was not "still a 160".

Hopkins was fighting at Light Heavyweight since 2006. In his prior fight, Bernard Hopkins weighed in at the light heavyweight limit of 175 pounds while his opponent, Enrique Ornelas weighed in at 173.5.

Hopkins vs Jones II was fought at the standard Light Heavyweight limit of 175 lbs. There was no catchweight. Jones barely made 175, but he made the weight.
